Default A.I. 226 cc heads on an lq4 6.0

Currently: Through a th400 with an Fti 9.5" 3800 stall converter it's making 370 rwhp and 352 rwtrq. With the old Fti 9.5" 3000 stall it made 380 rwhp and 357 rwtrq. Steel driveshaft, 8.8 with 3.73 gears, straight cut gears in trans.

2005 lq4 6.0, 317 heads, 1 3/4" midlength hedman headers going to 2.5 " dual exhaust with an x pipe, tbss intake manifold, 92 mm tb, 4 inch intake piping, no maf, Btr stage 2 turbo cam (226/231 duration). Trunion upgrade, Btr dual valve springs, steel retainers.

New setup: same cam, 799 heads with Advanced Inductions 226 cc full CNC machining/porting, heads milled 0.005" and gasket thickness of 0.040" & 4.060" bore diameter, using 1 7/8" S.E. headers with 3 inch dual exhaust with a 3 inch x pipe, same tbss intake but ported internally to get rid of the "tube"

Any guesses?

Yes unless it does really horribly in spring, but if 224/230 cams have done well with those heads, I'll leave mine in and see how it goes.

Well a friend of mine runs those exact heads on a LS1 with a Fast intake and slightly more aggressivecam, and made just over 450 rwhp with a stalled auto. I would think 420-430 is about right on your setup

Thanks as I am always unlocked (th400 life) and use the same dyno. I know the th400 is a power sponge but it keeps me away from the transmission shops haha.

Updates! I did exactly what I wrote on the list but dyno'd with a stock unported TBSS intake manifold instead of the ported unit, for a baseline. The temperatures inside the dyno room were 88°F.
I only spent 1.5 hours on the dyno but if I had more time, I could have leaned out the higher rpm VE area a little bit more. I was commanding 12.6 afr but was getting 12.07 afr due to the difference in load from the street (got 12.6 afr almost consistently on the street in the same 3rd gear wot rpm area) to the dyno.

On the same exact dyno with no load changes, I made 370 rwhp with the 3800 stall converter.
This time I made 418 rwhp. The torque said 386 ft lbs at one point but on other runs, it was saying odd values like 800 ft lbs as I was told high stalls do.
This is all through a th400, 9.5" Fti 3800 stall converter (always Unlocked) and a steel driveshaft, exhaust is full all the way to the bumper with tailpipes. Excited to see if the ported TBSS intake gains much in a week or 2. On the dyno sheet below, I went full throttle in 3rd gear at around 2100 rpm.

Before the dyno, on the street it felt faster than I ever remember it. Haven't tracked it yet as the stock tbss intake is off now as the ported one is going in tonight. Then I'll visit the dyno after that. Looks like we were pretty damn close on the guesses. Cooler weather showed cylinder airmass values of 0.88 G/cyl while similar 88°F temperatures outside like on the dyno, showed 0.82-0.83 g/cyl....so maybe it's a true 425-430 like you guessed.

Good deal. I'm really curious on the before and after track numbers.

I'll post track results but I am waiting for a worthwhile day with cool weather. May be in September, may be in October...either way I'll post any updates.

I went to the track, only got 3 passes. My first one where I spun (1.81 60 ft), was still faster than 11.49 (11.45) and I have no roll cage. Last year I did 11.74@114 or 115 mph. My best the year prior was 11.62@116.33 mph.

The other day I ran 11.26@120.64 mph while hitting the rev limiter in 1st gear. Not sure on the DA but intake air temps were low to mid 70s °F, humidity was 87%.

I had a topped up 60 L fuel tank so if I show up with a half tank, that's almost a 50 lb reduction in weight (maybe half a tenth). My air fuel ratios were almost a point richer than they should have been due to my wideband offset formula but I figured that out after so it's a non-issue now. Maybe another 10 rwhp left in it so possibly a tenth maybe. So it may have 11.1 or faster in it, 60 ft wasn't impressive as it was 1.61, only 3 passes until they closed the track so at least I got some data.
The 11.26 pass with the 1.61 60 ft showed 7 degrees of knock retard on the launch so if I had more test n tune time, I would have optimized all that to get no knock and a cleaner power delivery.

Interestingly, cutouts closed did 120.64 mph and the highest 1/8 mile mph of 96.97, while the 1st cutouts open run did 121.24 mph. The second open cutouts run did 120.64 mph.

Thanks, if they let me run 1/8 mile at least, I'll shave off some more time as I'll have more than 30 minutes to make some passes. I literally only had 30 minutes from start to finish hence the 3 passes.
