upcoming race: R1 vs LS1, vid to follow My friend wants to run my 03 R1 (k&n, hindle high mount, -1 tooth front sprocket, 145 lb rider) against his LS1 from a 60 mph roll on Sunday for fun. His stock weight M6 z28 has patriot LS6 heads, MS4 cam, pacesetter LT's, 3.73's and 150 tnt ring kit. Does this set up sound good enough for 130 mph traps?
I suspect that I will jump out ahead off the hit, then he may eventually start to halt my pull or reel me in depending on how fast we go. He will have a camera man in his car and I will have a camera mounted on my bike too.

Quick cheap solution - Slap a quick nitrous system on your ride for $500-$1000 depending on your skills, set it at 100-150 shot and you will take him from start to finish.....

Was at the track Wed. evening and there was a naked R1 wtf ever THAT is...
He was trapping 141mph... Not lowered but he had pipes (2 aftermarket).
Don't put any $$$ on it...

I think some ppl are missing out on the fact that its me on the bike and my friend in the car.
With bolt ons (mac mids) and a 100 shot, he ran 122 mph, but he hasnt run the car since getting h/c/LTs and the 150 shot. He thinks he will run 130 mph.

This is happening on Sunday, so I expect to have the vid up on Sun night or Monday at the latest. Im hoping his gf doesnt have shaky hand syndrome when filming.

if your buddies z28 had a stalled auto and slicks and you raced from a dig you would see taillights the whole way, it being a 6 speed if you can ride your bike you will walk away from him no matter what, it would take 160+ to reel you in. the only way without spending tons of money to beat a bike is auto from a dig with nitrous.

I've run R1's before and I know for sure that I'm faster than your buddy...and I've
gotten whooped up pretty good. Liter bikes are no joke with someone who knows
how to ride...even moderately.

Any of you guys that think the car is going to win are crazy. Bike for sure....... Bike dude, you dont have a pipe and power commander? My buddy has an 06 and 07 R1 and keeps trying to unload the 06 on me. Its rejetted, pipe, power commander, and +1 sprocket. ******* way sick.

you should win.. but it isnt going to be a slaughter by any means.. as long as he can drive.. yea he will be right around 130 traps.. he has a good setup, i think if he had weight reduction.. than he would win.. and not rear bumper support take out, i mean weight reduction.. either way.. let us know..

(IMO) and I still think a R1 will wax a car that only traps 130mph.
