Default Got my cdl A.....Whos hiring around here?

Hey guys, I haven't been on the site in quite some time because i've been going to smith and solomon to get my cdl A and I picked up a new beater/toy a 1998 jeep cherokee lifted 3" which i cut the fenders and stuffed some 33x12.5super swamper tsl radials under lol. But i got out of the school last thursday 9/24/09 and have been trying to find a job since. I'm only 20(ill be 21 november 21st) with no trucking experience other than the school, and I'm scheduled tomorrow to get my T.W.I.C. card. Everywhere i've gone so far either wants experience or wants you over the road which i can't do because im not 21 yet. I've got about 6 applications to send out right before my 21st birthday but I need some money and need to get off my damn ***. Anyone here know who might be hiring drivers? I'll travel but law says i can't leave the state. so far i've been to jb hunt, party rentals, nemf(new england motor frieght), us foodservices, and old dominion trucking. so whos hiring or wheres a good place to check out?

I started driving tandem dumps and a lowboy for an excavating outfit. Most construction outfits stay in NJ and work union hours (7a-3p). Right now with all the **** going on with the economy its going to be tuff to get a job. If you have a TWIC see if you can get hooked up with someone shipping containers in and out of the port. Goodluck

I've never heard of either of the 2 companies you mentioned 02ls1ram so I'm gonna look them up now and see how to go about contacting them. thanks, I stopped at raymore and flanigan and riehls towing today, Raymore told me they want ATLEAST 2yrs experience and riehls said I cant get insured with them till 21. I'm just gonna keep trying though lol.

You should drive with UPS. They start out $23 an hour and within 3 years you make full pay $30 an hour. You get around 10 hours of overtime every week. They have the best benefits ever and it's a union.

yeah, they want experience so you'll have to work for one of the bottom feeder companies. it sucks but you gotta have time on the road and keep your record clean.
