what year is the C5? obviously the 02+ are the higher HP because of the cam.
C5, very reliable. I had just shy of 100k on my FRC (looks like Z06, but was pre Z06 days). I had 80k on the stock block with a blower making 575rwhp. Same thing w/ the tranny and rear.
I did a complete over haul a few years back and when I tore the motor down it was like new inside. As long as you keep fresh oil in them and it has a good tune, they last a long time.
But for a stock C5, ask if the column has every locked. Common problem for C5's is the column lock will get jammed, the car thinks it's being stolen and you end up needing a tow to the dealer ot get it fixed. They have a bypass module, it's like $30 and installs in less then a hour.

i'll be brutally honest... 50th anni edition doesn't mean ****. Every car that rolled off the line in 03 got those badges... I love the guys who bought the red anni coupes and verts w/ the tan interior thikning they got a rare one for that year. They made so many of those freaken things..
Second thing, yellow is probably one of the least desirable colors. The seem to be harder to sell because most people want red, black, or blue.
Where is this located and what are they asking?

It's located in new castle delaware the dealer is called nucar chevy and asking 25 with my trade any everything it's down to 23k with 36k miles on it. And damn I always thought a yellow vette looked bad ***. I test drove it and the car felt awesome. I'd love to have electron blue or red but can't find any
If you really want a C5 start looking in Corvetteforum for sale section. Prices are crazy low and this is the time of year to buy. Winter right around the corner most guys have to drop the price because its a tougher sell.
I mean i just went over there and this is one of the first Z06's I found. $17.2k. 2001, but it has nice mods, headers, cam, clutch. That's probably a solid car.

for what 3 months??? you think that warranty is worth the extra 5-6k? And how much driving are you really going to do once the snow hits?
C5's are dead simple to work on. There is a million good write ups on Corvetteforum on how to identify and repair a problem.
I'm just trying to help ya out bud.

Yep, just be smart about all this. I know it's hard to control vette fever, but if you can you'll be happier in the end

My $0.02 and NOT owning either but love both.....sell your Cobra private and buy private. Cars at dealerships are getting tooo much $$ and killing the real enthusiast. Don't be tooo anxious, take your time and make the right decision!

Get a C6 they are very affordable especially the ls2 (05-06) I sold my 00 Mil yellow C5 to get a c6 and love it. I think a C5Z or a C6 will be an excellent choice but the Cobra definitely isn't bad!
