Hello,
Well I am from Michigan, but recently applied and was accepted as a transfer student to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. For those interested, I am majoring in Biological Science looking to get into Dental School. Just curious what the LS1/car crowd is like in Boca if any. Any shops in or near Boca? Any tracks close by? Thanks!

You can check out PBIR on Beeline Hwy (formerly Moroso Motorsports Park) and Countyline raceway in north Miami. Homestead is also nearby if you're into road racing.
You can check out the Challenge series once a month at PBIR. Great fun with the finest group of people imaginable. Good times...

I created a Series a few years ago at PBIR called the Challenge Series. I originally only had Corvettes. Over the last few seasons it has grown and we now have 6 series running during each event. Short trip about 40 minutes from Boca!!!!

sounds like the car scene has gotten much better since I attended FAU. I could never find **** going on down there. It is a really cool campus, close to the beach, lots of great looking women, lots of irish pubs to hit up, and really crappy traffic. I want to go back to school there but I'm almost done at UCF....enjoy your time down there.

WELCOME TO BOCA!
Hey, You got the right guy local or even if you weren't local, in Dan @ Masport of Boca.
He cameout to last Sat's Challenge after his Tune to my car. I've gone to 4 Challenges in the past year* and made it to the final twice after his setup and getting rid of the gremlins in my LS1 N/A ride!
*(Track was closed 6+ months for a multi million dollar renovation).

I live off campus. I will hopefully be done with by Bachelors degree by the summer's end. If you have any questions about the campus or the area around it let me know. For those having attended the school, whats your suggestion on living on campus vs off campus... both financial wise and also the living life as well. I will be coming in as a Junior FWIW. Thanks!

Living on campus has it's perks and some cons. You're on campus, you get to meet a ton of people just through the dorms or on campus apartments, most of the dorms are fairly new and not something from the 1950s, you'll always have parking (most of the time). But you could end up in a double and get a crappy roommate, no kitchen, sharing bathrooms, etc. Off-campus can be expensive if you can find a place, I had a wild ride my last semester there. Got evicted twice from privately owned condos, lived in a hotel for the last month of the semester before I moved back home.
