Default Who Can Finish Timing Set Install In Tampa Area (Brandon)?

See this thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...p-dot-dot.html

I've got the timing cover off and am trying to line the gears up dot-to-dot, but am having no luck at all. I've spent a good 6 hours on this part alone and am completely ******* fed up. Who wants to come help for $30/hour?

Honestly, I don't even remember how we did it during my cam swap, I just remember it took like 5 minutes.

Maybe it is just the quality of the picture, but I do not see a timing mark on the crank gear. Is the crank gear on backwards by chance?? If the gear is on right and you can see the different marks for 0, -4 & +4, it should be a pretty straight forward deal.

Humm, Me thinks Mr. Norris may be right. crank gear on backwards. Looks like a Comp Cam billet adjustable set and there should be markings between the key ways on the face to let you know where you are at.

thanks for the compliment Jarod. I have gotten the broke installer out but there are some other more fun things to deal with like bent valves.

Update: Crazykid is taking care of it. Thanks!. I didn't know the LS2 was an interference motor, so I was turning the gears without unbolting the rockers, resulting in PTV contact, which were the bent valves mentioned. Either way, thanks, Kyle!

It is in my possession and being fixed. It bent a bunch of valves, but we got it all taken care of.
