Default February 24th -- CTS-V Shootout at PBIR

On Friday, February 24th, 2012, I've organized a CTS-V shootout event at PBIR. It's taken quite a bit of planning, but we've got close to 20 of the fastest CTS-V's from across the country coming to South Florida to race their butts off.

There should be a pretty good crowd there and I'm trying to get some magazines out there too. I've procured a dyno for the event and attendees will be allowed to dyno their cars; some of them are putting down massive power so it will be awesome to watch.

Several tuners/shops will be in attendance, including one of our sponsors -- Howard Tanner from Redline. He's opening up a shop in South Florida and is someone I met a couple months ago at the track. Great guy with an amazing reputation in this industry.

Spectators will be charged $5 and gates open at 9am. I'm going to close the gates around noon because there's no point in paying to have someone at the front all day. So, if you can make it out, it will be a great time and unique event. As far as I know, this is the largest race-inspired gathering of second gen CTS-Vs in the country.

Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing you guys out there.

- Marsad

I couldn't set it up at night because there's a test-and-tune, plus the time would be limited.

Only a couple days away!

For everyone that's making the event, try and get there before 9 am. It's only a couple days away and I'm freakin' pumped! I'm looking forward to racing and meeting a bunch of fellow V enthusiasts. For any spectators, get there before noon, because I'm only paying to have someone working the entrance till then. Also, I believe the concessions stand will be there for anyone that's hungry.

He is just renting it out in the morning. It will still be test and tune at night.
I'll be working litigator, so I guess I'll just see the videos and pics after.
Good luck

We'll have the track till 4pm, and then normal test-and-tune starts at 6pm, which is of course open to anyone. If you're planning on coming to the CTS-V Shootout, get there before noon.

Hope everyone had a good time. It was a great turnout and I will certainly be doing it again, bigger and better.

Yea, there are tons of vids and pics; they'll start pouring in here the next couple days.

Off the top of my head, five cars were in the 10s.

1) Manny (800+ CTS-V) with a ~ 10.4 @ 135
2) Jeff McKee with a 10.5
3) LitiGATOR with a 10.8 @ 127
4) BookinCTSV (Brandon) with a 10.9
5) Bowtye8 (Dennis) with a 10.9

Great times considering the weather. I had the quickest non-E85 car there. But, those E85 cars ride out! Jose Novo had a monster coupe trapping over 131 but he couldn't get traction and hovered around the 11.0 mark all day. Several other cars were in the 11.0-11.2 range.

Here are my pics. I want to thank everyone that came out, especially the sponsors (KD Innovations, Redline, and CadillacForums.com), Anthony with Mobile Dyno Solutions, the folks at Palm Beach International Raceway, and those that drove all the way from Minnesota and Ohio! Everyone seemed to have a good time and I can't wait to start putting the next one together; it will be bigger and better.

Keith from KDi doing some on-the-spot tuning.

These are all the cars I could gather for the group shot, there were several more that didn't make it in.
