Powertech Performance-Best shop I have ever felt with.
Powertech Performance in Tampa focuses on LS type vehicle so its the perfect place for guys like us who can't work on everything in our garage or apartment parking lot.
I took my car there a weekend back and got my tune done by Phil who many of you may know, while there I talked to the owner of Powertech Performance about getting my clutch looked at because of how it would not go into reverse and was acting chunky. He agreed and we set something up for me to come back in the near future. While doing my tune he was nothing but helpful, offering me drinks and even helped me fix my serpentine belt before I left because it was about to slide off.
Well the near future became the future extremely quick, a few days later my clutch had just given up. My clutch wold stick to the floor, not allow my car to start without bucking like a mad man, and also would make me shut her off before I could go into first or reverse.
So my ability to drive the car went away overnight, therefore it would have had to be taken by flatbed to whatever mechanic I chose. Well I was so impressed with Joe and his set up that I paid to have my car transported the 110+ miles to Tampa all the way from Orlando. I was tired of dealing with people who were taking advantage of both my age and wallet.
I talked to Joe who set up the whole transportation for my car as well as made sure it was a reasonable price. My car left my apartment's parking lot Tuesday night, Wednesday about lunch time they had the trans out and had found all the problems the last shop had hidden away. He posted 14 pictures all with descriptions of what I was looking at as well as what was wrong. Turns out the shop before had not only crossed the sensors which took out my reverse they also had put in my bearing with what he described was a pin hammer. Needless to say my clutch was dead. And when I say dead he said he's seen less damage on cars that had been running their clutches through turbos at the track. I had this clutch put in with my new engine, it had less then 2k miles on it and it was eaten away. The flywheel had uneven wear, and just everything else you could think of was wrong with this thing. That includes my rear seal leaking as well as grease being flung around the inside of the housing and having my slave leak all over the housing as well.
So that was Wednesday, he called me up later that afternoon and said what I should do i.e. changed all the parts that were broken, and if i wanted to do it correctly i would replace the slave flywheel and clutch and all the things that should have been replaced when the last shop was in there. So i agree on the LS7 clutch which he recommended after asking me how I drove he car and knew my habits and daily commute.
Needless to say Joe's dedication to his customer did not stop there, my car was ready around 3pm on Thursday. I rode out there with a friend and picked her up. While I was there I found out that the shop had also installed the engine incorrectly and joe had done me the curtousy of fixing the things that really NEEDED to be fixed. I cannot even list all the things he found that he helped me out with. To name a few, there were wires just hanging directly over my headers almost touching that they had just left hanging to be burned and to cause more problems. Also a component on the front was installed backwards, and even my oil filter had wires wrapped around her. If i were to do an oil change I would have had to unplug idk how many things. He obviously could not fix everything for me in just the day he had with the car, but he sure as hell made sure I would get home safe. These are just what I can fit in a lengthy post, I am 100% satisfied with his work on my car. And I am also glad I made the choice of sending my car the 2 hours. If you are ever worried abut your local shop or are new to the area I would take my car here if I were you.
I only write this lengthy post because I was so amazed at how screwed I got by my previous *family friend* shop, and how a complete stranger knew the love we all have for our cars, and new that when your young that times can be tough when you have just gone out on your own. I thank joe and his techs for taking the time to make my car safe and drivable. The clutch is perfect so soft and drives like a stock car. Thanks again Joe for all your hard work, and thanks for taking the time to make sure it was done right.

I told you it was acting like the O2 sensors were crossed lol. That why we went to open loop for a while to take them out of the picture and then to see how everything would married up once the MAF and the VE table worked together.
That car should be much more fun now.

Drew, I haven't had any work done at Powertech, but I was there for the Dyno day they had and I was also impressed with the shop.
They are a lot closer to me than you though, so if I ever have work to be done, it's going there.
Phil tuned my car also, and I'm very happy with it so far.

Just get the intake side air breathing flowage a little better and there's plenty more RWHP to be had.

The black one with TSP cat-back? Yes, the way it sagged pre-welding was horrible esp. with the u bolts they provide, its perfect now with just one v band clamp above the axle if I ever want to separate it and Joe welding the rest.

Id like to get that FoxRox strapped down on the dyno to see if we can add more timing to it now that the rattling is gone.
