Default Matt Bohr {bohr898} sold me a junk 4l80e for $2000

Go to the members feedback on performancetrucks.net

Matt Bohr {bohr898} sold me a junk 4l80e for $2000. He claims this tranny had 7K on a total rebuild {Matt hacked/rebuilt it}. When it was finally ship to my tranny shop {ATRA} they had to put $1263.30 worth of parts into it. I asked him to make good & send me $1006.70

Looks like that will never happen, unless:

Does anyone know this guy? If you live in the Jacksonville, St. Augustine area, I need your help.

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks. He is convinced the tranny he sold was immaculate.

The shop I used for my conversion is:
Dick's Transmission
Jim or Dale @ Dick's Transmission
{ATRA member}
715-392-2407 or 877-417-3698
wwwtwinportstrans.com

Whenever I can't fix or modify it, I'll bring it to Dick's. They have been in business for 35+years.

Thanks again,
Tim

In the for sale post he claimed the tranny was completely rebuilt / replaced everything & it only had 7K on the rebuild.

I have no steak in the fight, but being an ATRA member, and owner of a trans shop. Short of building a mack daddy 4l80e. They didn't put 400$ worth of parts in your tranny.

I'd like to see a parts list.

Something doesn't Jive, the bench over haul job was 640 in labor? I'd kill to be able to get that money. LOL

41 $ for a pan gasket? LMAO, A 4l80 needing steels? I don't see it. Planet and sprag? No way. 4.87 a qrt for dexron? I charge 3.29 that band is 16$

You paid above retail. I'm not saying the trans was good bad or ugly. BUT I am saying you got bent over the counter on that bill.

MOST 4L80e's leave my shop between 1900-2500 complete, including R&R, converter, and all. That's you dropped off a broke truck and drove it out after. And i'm expensive in my area.

I was screwed over by Matt Bohr. I don't feel the shop screwed me over. The transmission he sold me was junk/beat to **** = Two bolts stripped on pan rail, Bushing spun in forward clutch, Clutch totally burnt out in forward, Bushing locked on od clutch, & Intermediate clutches burned.

This project was a 4l65e to 4l80e conversion on a Silverado SS. The **** transmission they rebuilt for me performs & feels great. Also, the AWD transfer case was gone thru. So, my total bill came to $2804.88 = Fair price for a rebuilt 4l80e that's done right, fresh nvg149 w/case pump upgrade, 4l80e shaft, shortened rear drive shaft, trans cooler lines modified, wiring & labor for the conversion.

Yes, I'm mad at him & no, I don't feel the shop screwed me over. Read the posts in the members feedback on performancetrucks.net
{bohr898 sold me a junk 4l80e for $2000}

Matt claimed the tranny had 7K on the rebuild & was immaculate. This is what we found when the 7K mile immaculate tranny was taken apart:
-Two bolts stripped on pan rail
-Bushing spun in forward clutch
-Clutch totally burnt out in forward
-Bushing locked on od clutch
-Intermediate clutches burned.
This transmission would not have moved forward.
I could have went to a junkyard & bought a better 4l80e
