This one will be strictly for fun, pinks all outs, charity races like DFT, local message board events, pontiac races/shows and a class I like to run called 'pro test and tune'
That is what I am going for as well. There is also a new EFI class in ORSCA that I may partake in.

Realistically I expect 9.60s or so in good weather, 10.00s in crappy weather. I dont want to deal with head gasket issues so thats a comfortable place to be.

As far as the rear end why not have something that can take the abuse without worry. The same 3.70 aluminum center from moser was in my other car for four years, after a while you realize its cheaper just to to put the best parts in to begin with rather than lose money by replacing lesser parts several times.

This is just a fun car and it will only take a few months to complete since I have already been there, only thing I'll miss is having a W2W/Billy Briggs short block delivered to me door. But I bought a set of Howards rods and Diamond pistons from W2W Kurt and I'll be doing my own short block this time, except for the machine work of course, so that will add a little time to the whole process.

The M9 setup is pretty nice, I was hesitant to try it after having such great luck for years with the old stock type torque arm but if you are starting from scratch its about the same money-wise. Not to mention its 34lbs lighter than my old 9 inch/torque arm/trans crossmember, thats not hard to take
The M9 that you are putting in , how are they on the street for every day daily use ? I thought they were more built for the track ? Is M9 a nice ride ? What gears are you going with ?

No reason you couldnt street drive one with a posi, its just a 9 inch housing. But the torque arm may be a little noisy and the sliding rod end in the front would need to be cleaned and greased so probably not the best setup for a daily driver. This car wont be street driven much so I just went for lighter weight of it all.

If it was a daily driver I would use a regular 9" housing with a stock style torque arm and trans crossmember that moves the arm off the back of the trans. I'll use a 3.70 gear.

I have never used anything but stock rear springs on one of these cars, if they hold the car up they seem to work fine.

The BMRs are just lowering springs arent they?

I didnt answer you on the shocks, I'm just going to use the same ones I had on the other car, Strange single adjustable fronts and CE 3 way rears - simple and good enough for mid 1.2 60 foots..

Been waiting for some parts so not much getting done the last week, but the roll bar from Wolfe showed up today, 2 weeks after I ordered it not bad. So I pulled the interior to get ready to put it in today. Going to put some new carpet in it, pull the dash and heater box and clean up some unneeded wiring under the dash, then its back underneath.

Since I went with the rear bars that go over the gas tank and I have to pull the tank I decided to do a Nasty aluminum tank and a single magnafuel 4303 pump on this one, that pump was bulletproof on my old car and one thing about an FI car is you need a rock stable fuel supply.

Coupe pics of the inside, not much left

You start lowering your car you will make it tough to hook.

I dunno, helps keep the front end down if anything.

I have gone 1.23 with my old car (with stock rear springs) as low as it could possibly get in the rear without minitubbing it.

This car had some blue springs that really lowered it. They were stiff as hell so I wont even try them. All I could find is some convertible springs so if anyone has a set of stock firebird/camaro rear springs I'll buy them

I have thought about going with a coil-over for the front and rear so I can adjust the height of the car for the street and the track. I have a factory auto car and seeing the success out of Kp's car it makes me want to run stock springs in the back with the CE shocks and some single adjustable strange shocks and springs up front.
There was a post awhile back where a few guys were going really fast with lowered springs?? (might be on CamaroZ28.com?)

Kp where did you buy the CE shocks?

Looking good KP. I see me doing something like that few years down the road when I'm tired of working my *** off racing, lol.

Speaking of that, where's good hooking track I could come test at in March? Weather in Cinti area will still be suspect but I may get the urge to take a short road trip to the South.

Mark
