project tin can shootin for 9's
If it proves me wrong I will do a new rear but it will be the last one ever done for this car I'll tell you.
So after the new turbo and cam install i got it retuned and at 21 psi it made 810 around 5800 rpm before we shut it down so we wouldn't kill the weaker gen3 bottom end. Turned it down to 18 psi and it made 740/665 on unleaded 100. Next problem was my catch can would fill up with a lot of oil so after a lot of reading i find out that the valley cover isn't the best for a catch can. So i got a new stock valley cover and put that on and welded my -10 bungs to the valve covers and now i dont get any oil what so ever, only a little condensation so that problem is fixed. So last weekend i was able to make it to the track and car was running great. First pass off the trailer and off the foot brake it went 9.97@149, second pass off the transbrake and 2-step at 3,000 rpm it went 9.18@154, then turned the 2-step to 3500 and leaving on 5 psi it went a personal best of 8.86@156 with a 1.42 60'!
Needless to say i was extremely happy with a solid 8 sec pass when i was WISHING for at least a 8.999, lol. This car has exceeded any expectation iv had for a "garage built" car. Now i have to wait till next year to get out again to tune the suspension more and get that 60' down and better passes.
