project tin can shootin for 9's
When I saw when.this thread started I never had any idea it was still going! So many changes, and every time you talked about selling it I was over here cussing you like a dog! So much time, money and heart went into this car it can NEVER be truly appreciated for what it is by anyone other than you.
I'm so happy to see you still have it and are knocking down 9s. Your build is literally the blueprint of my own goals. Maybe that's why I was so passionate about it. Anyways best if luck and keep us updated!
Stupid phone in my pocket ringing all the time I just never look at it or take it out when working on car, wish my 3 year old was a little better at taking pictures I'd get her to do it lol

Im also pretty passionate about the car so taking pictures of progress is pretty cool and i like going back in my thread to see where i came from to now, lol.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I look at pictures of mine when I first bought it, one of it doing a big wheel stand on the day I went to make my NHRA license passes in it, and I look at it now, and say to myself WTF did I do LOL.
I should have stopped a couple times with it and got another car to chop up/mod, but for some reason I just wanted to keep going with this one. Now, short of a double frame rail and a full back 1/2 there's really nothing chassis wise other than replacing the bumpers, fenders door and roof/hatch with carbon I could even really do.
Motor wise it's never enough no matter what I buy, build or put in it. I was always an n/a guy but the eastside group back in 2007 turned me onto nitrous and that's it for me, I just can't see ever getting away from it. For 1/8th mile racing I just can't see anything else ever really having the advantage of a power adder that can have 100% in as early as the track/car will take it, or earlier if you so choose. 1/4 mile it can certainly be beat but for the short track, it's ultra tough.
My 1/4 racing is just index racing which is glorified bracket stuff with a street race twist to it with the pedal fest's up top, heads up stuff I want and plan to do is all 1/8th mile so I'm sticking with my poison

Wish I had documented the build better. Someday I'm sure it will be a magazine car, everyone that stops by the shop and all my customers ask when was it, or will it be featured.....
I can get it for under 4 bucks a lb so its not too bad.
A 50 pill in a trashcan noid.........would be good for what at the tire?
If you want to believe a hp calculator, they will tell you around the 750 wheel hp
Trash can solenoids for nitrous side of fogger, .050 pill per cylinder. The solenoids have a .187 orifice so they have an area a lot bigger than standard solenoid, 2 of them will move a lot of nitrous. Hence why a -8 feed rather than the -4 or -6 your normal kits come with. Have to run a special bottle valve as well to make sure it's not a choking point, or at least should imo
Fwiw the ls plate kits that are on the market, have about a .053 pill for what's considered a 100 hp hit.
So yeah.
I live in Crown Point so I go to US41 also. Hopefully see you there next season. I felt like the track was pretty good this season for it being the new owners first year. My car wasn't as fast as yours this year and I didn't push it too hard so I'm sure going deep in the 9s is a different story. Hopefully next year for me.
I've gotten a few good ideas from your build too. Even though you didn't keep the procharger, I like the way you setup the piping. I'm going to redo mine in aluminum and I might upgrade to the interstate intercooler too. Also tipping the radiator up makes a ton more room. I might do my cowl like yours too.
Awesome build! Looking forward to next year numbers.

As for the track it was really nice and the new 1/8 mile all concrete is badass and the transition to ashfault is perfect. Tim has a lot of racing going on this year so I'm sure the track is going to be great all year!
If you go to the grove this year let me know. Maybe I'll haul my car up there.

So in my goal of going faster for 2016 i had to make some changes in the ol' turbo compartment. Sold my cast s480/83 and got hooked up with a new Bullseye billet s483/96 unit and holy hell this thing is KILLER! The wheel is a real work of art and having the bigger turbine will net me some more mph and not to mention the billet 83 over the cast 80. Cant wait to get this thing spooled up!

Next the governor cover on my th400 kept leaking no matter how much or what i did to try and seal it up. So i took that off and put a straight edge on it and the **** stamped steel cover was warped pretty bad so i cut out a new cover out of 1/4" aluminum with a nice and straight/plane surface. This should seal up my last leak on the trans...
