trade t76gts for gt47-88???? yes or no
ok i have a forged 347, 317 heads, custom cam, truck manifolds and a fuel system to support a 1000hp
my setup is pretty much finished thanks to alot of help from guys in this section... thanks again guys!!
but now the question is i have a precision t76gts that i have been offered a precision gt47-88 for
both have same miles and everything and its a straight up trade should i do it? or not?
to help this will be a street car on about 16-18psi
im worried about the spool time for the gt47-88 but figured the greater mass of air from the greater size would make up for it...
keep mine or go bigger?
thanks!!

do u have turbo lag now with 76? 88 will give u more HP at top end, but u have to think about lag. also what's ur redline on ur engine. and when does ur 76 spool up and max boost by what rpm?
i seen gt42-88 making 1000whp to supra engine but it's bit laggy with 3.4liter.
but since u have forged 347 u shouldn't worry too much about lag..

Its not running right now I'm just finishing up the build but from what I heard the t76 should take long to spool at all maybe full boost at 3000?? But I really have no particular hp goal in mind maybe 900? Its mostly just bragging rights since 900 won't hook on the street anyways but I was told the 76 would max at 750. Don't get me wrong 750 is A LOT! But like I said I'm chasing those 900hp bragging rights
Not just the small cubes but the fact that it will be a t4 flange with an adapter plate to feed the t6 flange of the 88 will that also make it harder to spool?
Thanks!

Stick with the 76GTS ...sounds like you have a true street car....not a street strip terror. The 76GTS will make 1000crank HP no problem. If later you want to make the push for more power, then opt for the GT47 now. Also a GT47 with a .96A/R housing will spool VERY nicely if set up correctly. You don't want to re-make a kit again...PITA.

I agree with DrTurbo.
You really don't need 1000rwhp or even close. The fact that you ask that question makes me think you don't really know much about turbos, which isn't a bad thing. Bigger isn't always better.
I think it's like a buffet. You see an oppertunity to up the max hp potential, but it's more than you can eat right now. I'll keep the GT47-88 and buy some flanges and stuff from Forced Inductions, and then everyone is happy.

I've decided I'm just going to keep my 76 750-800 in a street car truely is more than enough and with the almost instant spool time it should be pretty nasty!
Thanks for the help guys
