Run a fiberglass sleeve like this one,

And make sure they do not touch the header at all because it will still burn through it with them on.

Doubt it, you can zip tie the wire out of the way so it doesnt make any contact. I don't see how having a longer wire is going to make a difference. Older stlye motors with weaker ignition systems use different lenths.

Different lengths is ok.Best not to have the heat sheild touching but you can get away with it with porcelan ends.Kinda pricey.

I have the granatelli. My car burnt up an accel 900 wire with no stock metal protector. I put on granatelli the best ones the HT ones. My car has been running worse and worse for weeks. It didn't misfire at idle or when revving to say 3000 under neutral so figured it was fine but it would machine gun under boost and wot and higher rpm under load.

Today changed out plugs thinking maybe plug problem. Found number 5 and number 6 burnt up right thru the 1200 degree sleeves ! So think going to msd wires with stock protectors and truck coils now. Hear the msd work with the truck coils but stock wires are too short??

Stock wires with the protectors might be fine too. I wasted that money on those granatellis..not impressed. Oh and this is weird..think my wires were a repack..Anyway when taking them off to check one of the wires had no plug connector in the boot???WTF?? still not sure how it ran with that. And no the connector didn't come off when pulled off the wires. And thats another thing. Its so tight in there with the aps kit and heatshields they use that its very hard to take off the granatelli wires with those big sleeves and not have the plug terminal come off and stay on the plug.

I have been fighting my misfire problem for weeks, months. And never thought it was the new expensive wires.
