Looks good Tom! My APS stuff is coming out and will be getting ceramic coated on the hotside and powdercoated on the cold side. Then rebuilding with true Mitsubishi centersections I picked up from Al. Trans is out for a rebuild/upgrade now as well. Hope to be back cruising in a few weeks. We'll have to meet up this year now that you are local.

SO this is what ive got done so far this week.

got the piston clean which took 8 hours for all of them

this is the brush i used to clean the rings and ring lands out.i t work out well

block got brake cleaned like crazy in all of the oil galleys and a good old air blow gun

callies crank

putting it all together

checking end play

i hope to have all the pistons in this weekend. The oil clearances on the crank are .002 and .003 on the rods. the piston to CYL. wall is .0075 which is alittle big but .009 is the max for these piston. they are race piston made for alot boost and heat so they should grow alot
ill keep you all up to date until the end of this one

my buudy mike has been helping out the last few days. thanks mike

well uless you can show me a reason for 6 bolts per cly wtih an AFR build. then i dont see why it is bad.

AFR is a great head. ERL and AFR both said i will be fine pushing 18psi with 4bolt head.

now maybe i should ahve done it so i dont have to take it apart to have it redone. but if it gets to that point. i will pull motor. put it in my Bros car and build a 427. but GT35r turbos first. i think i got this figured out. i will post pictures later.

i have talk to guys that made over 1000wheel with setup like yours and they still spent more time fixing them than driving them (mightymouse). then they went to a 6 bolt setup. now they have more time to drive and clean there cars than fixing them. i dont think 18psi is going to get you 1000wheel more like 20+. but not trying to be a dick by the way big bird. how is your car doing is it running yet whats going on with it?
