underside of car is ready for paint...we finished the last of the seam sealing last night. Also mounted dzus tabs for the front of the hood. just need to secure the cowl "wings" on the hood.

just some minor fab work left, filling in the holes left from removing the factory side skirts and batwing and the car and some basic body work to take care of some dings and whatnot then will be be ready for paint

Engine bay is almost finished...did alot of small little jobs yesterday and this morning....

mounted the oil accumulator
mounted the coil packs
finished the cowl patch plate
cut excess off the shock towers,
some patch welding on the frame rails

I'll be on vacation until Thursday but should be ready to prime and paint the bay next weekend

will be painting it the same carbon fiber metallic as what I did the bumper, but will use flattening agent in the clear to take it to a satin gloss in the front wheel wells, firewall and frame rails. All the tubing will be painted with the hammered paint to match the cage...

I'm going to redo the brackets in aluminum...they are the same ones I built out of steel 2 years ago when I didn't have access to a tig

I'll take some pics when I rebuild them.

worked on it for 3 hours last night...

wrapped up a lot of little small things:
cut the old travel limiter tabs off the frame (had replaced to MADMAN's new style last year)
welded in nuts to hold the downpipes up better (I had just tapped the frame during mockup)
welded in nuts for the HVAC delete plate (its a pain to install when using a bolt and nut)
trimmed the passenger side shock tower
painted all the engine bay bars with 2 coats of HAMMERED paint.

Just need to add a little more seam sealer on the cowl (ran out...new can coming today), sand the bay, mask off the bars and the engine bay is ready for paint

I'm off work friday so maybe I'll get the bay painted

Once thats done I can start sanding priming and prepping all the body panels. Need to get this thing painted in the next 3 weeks since the weather will be cooling down quickly.

the RHS block should be showing up any day now (supposed to ship first week of oct). Shawn has most of the parts, but Phil needs to get the crank and rods down to him so he can start prepping everything. Said I should have it in 6 wks or so. should start coming together soon

we talked to ATI at the shakedown...they have some new tricks up their sleeve and will be modifying my converter to make it alot tighter

Im new to the big power drag racing cars but what weight distribution is good?

I know for a roadrace car you want 50/50 and 25/25/25/25 but for drag racing do you orient it slightly to the rear as 45/55? I can see you why you would want 50/50 from driver to passenger still but more wight right over the rear would end up with better traction but to much ends up with massive wheel stands. AM I correct in this?

What is the goal weight?

54-56% on the nose works fine.
