thanks for clearing that up phil. I def have an extremely limited knowledge on dry sump setups, and that cleared up alot of questions in my mind. thanks for that.

Just plan it out using common sense.

looked at turbowerx...I'm thinking their std pump since were talking about something that'll only run minutes at a time....dunno if the extra 100 for a exa is worth the money

also thinking about a mocal pump, once again its only a minimal time of operation and many have used them for rear mounts

I'm totally new to scavenge pumps...

I talked with Weldon about scavenge pumps, they were out a couple of months on theirs, and the first 100 were going to England. I asked what he would recommend since I couldn't wait that long, and he said the Exa-Pump was the closest thing to a Weldon. Bronze gears, heavy duty construction etc... So that is what we went with, it is a nice piece and worked fine. I would pop the extra 100 for the Exa.

Or I have a new Tilton diff pump sitting here if you need it.

all that stuff is there to provide 1000s of hours of reliablility...not something thats needed in a drag car IMO...worst case is the pump fails and you replace it...

Bought a used Mocal scavenge pump...I'll give it a whirl to see how it goes...

Got a few things done this weekend...

Shortened the rear LCAs. when I redid the LCA mounts, they must be a little more forward than before which caused the rear to sit too far back with the LCAs fully retracted. Cut off one of the tube ends to shorten each LCA and welded on new tube ends. All is good now

Installed the parachute handle and dual cables.

Modified the spill plate supports on the wing to pull them in nice and tight to the body. Painted the wing struts so that project is now complete.

Finished the electrical panel...Just need to wire the car to it and test everything.

Dropped my converter off to ATI. Having a new stator design installed which will tighten it up a bunch...

Dropped my transmission off to my tranny guy for a checkup and to get new seals installed since its been sitting for a year now

Shawn said he's got all the parts for the motor now...and has started the machine work

I've never been a fan of I/C in the car, but sometimes you just don't have the room or can take the weight up front. Having a ballistic blanket really does add some piece of mind

I totally agree. That should be a required piece of safety equiptment. I can't imagine the amount of concussion and shrapnel if one of those things let go at 35-40lbs of pressure.

Try having color problems and then talk to me about it... It took me an easy 100+ hours to get my interior harness trimmed down. I'd have to get my roomate every once in a while to point out what something was.
