I was wondering what the doors weigh... curious as to the actual weight, any way you can you slug one on a scale, and lemme know what's in it (door bars removed, etc)

If you have a sawzall, hole saw and a cutoff wheel, it can all be done. Plasma cutter is nice, but not needed.

for some of the things I need to cut out...a plasma will save a ton of time...worst case is I rent one locally

by feel they were close to 80 lbs each...

Very nice build! When do you think it'll see cecil? I might be going there this weekend to get a baseline time on my 402 SS before I turbo it. Plans are for a GT91 turbo, not nearly as wicked as your car but mine will be able to terrorize the streets on a weekly basis. I'd love to see your car run.

I'm scared to ask. What's the price tag on that unit? That thing is pimp and I'm doing a re-wire on my car this winter.

Edit: After looking, I can't be seeing the correct price. Only $234???

I was thinking about doing it this weekend. I have to get ahold of a guy, see if he can still hook me up with Wolfe stuff, and get the door panels ordered. Once I have them, anything in the door that's not needed, is coming out. Window motor wiring is going to get extended to come inside (switch going on the dash for those I think) and everything else in that door that can go, is going to go. Power door lock solenoids and all.

Nice. now if I could do the fab work to patch it all back up... I'd say let's go

I'm not sure when the front end will be here, but when it shows I'll call ya.

I'm thinking, this sunday the old one is coming off the car if you're bored, and feel like getting away from that subarat, and want to work on something that's clean (minus the spider webs LOL)

Fireball, you already had the door bars out of your car yes?

I have so much weight to cut out of my sled I don't know how it went as fast as it did.

Or, I should say I'm starting to understand how some of the other cars that I have often wondered about have gone as fast as they have.

If possible, take a before and after photo of the door after you get done cutting, and a weight before and after. That would be really good info for everyone

I have scales at home...so I can do that

looking at that 275 build thread in DR tech...I think I'm going to cut out the area the headlights bolt to and fab something up in 1/2" moly and put a few tabs to bolt the headlights to

it's about time you start getting creative-shouldn't be anything left in the frt but the shock tower.

I have all that being quoted right now. Everything from the shock towers forward being cut off and refabbed, little radiator, 3 gal fuel cell, etc.
