Cool good to see you're finished, how much boost are you planning on running?
I got mine done but know we're still working on the tune, I just got my wideband last week, we're planning on boosting around 15 to 17 psi for track, it is on a safe tune now at 10 psi and it feels ok, just waiting for weather to warm up a bit.

Im glad to see im finished to lol... i plan on running about 10psi

Same here... i am waiting on the weather to get into tuning some more... i have a good base tune for it to start up and idle properly and scaled everything for the injectors, but cant wait to do WOT tuning and part throttle for fuel mileage.

good luck with yours

Thanks, I couldn't help to notice the air charge sensor on the intake elbow, if it pops out under boost, just run a threaded one from something like a syclone/typhoon, it plugs right in and its made out of metal so you can tap into the pipe, just my $ .02

Those are some odd looking rotors. Those HIDs look great. I am going to update the OEM lights in my formula once I get it running. If you ever upgrade turbos I wouldn't go with a holset again.

Thanks i love the HIDs also. The rotors i chose came from Strano parts, i figured i couldnt go wrong with something new and different lol

why would you say you wouldnt upgrade to a holset again? I think it was great for the price... but if i had more money i would look into something better problably

Yea, who wants to make 700+whp, with spool similar to a T4 T67 for $200 anyway.

There is nothing wrong with holcet turbos. My buddy had one on a dodge cummings with over 300,000 miles on it! Not one problem.

For the price why not? My friend ran an old air research turbo from a semi that he got for free in his LQ4 / TH400 mustang. The car trapped 141 at it's fastest and was around the 136ish range consistently.

They are inefficient, archaic designs, originally developed for diesel engines. They are large, take up a lot of space, and weigh a ton. If you are going to dump thousands into a car what is a few hundred dollars more? You could buy a nice brand new, made in 2010, TC76 for $999 pretty much designed exactly for this type of application.

What type of fuel does that engine run on? Apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

How could you possibly say they are "archaic" designs? The HX52 was designed in late 03.. the HE line was designed in 05 and uses all newly developed BILLET wheels... Garrett wheels are so beyond old compared to holset designs it is hilarious.. Remember that OEM's back holset turbos with 10s of millions dollars, I dont see joe blow with a LS1 a huge investment return on a R and D opportunity.

Nobody to this day has beaten a 67mm HX52 with a T67, bb or not bb... Even if someone did, the HX52 will still outspool a T67. HX52's can be had all day for $150 with minimal miles on them, not that it matters.

If weight and size is a problem, then dont get one... most people can afford the extra 15lbs if it means saving $1000+, and having a reliable turbo.
