Here are some pictures of the engine that I took while visiting Kurt Urban 2 weeks ago. I flew out for the Milan LSx race and met a lot of great people. It was a lot of fun to meet Kurt and see my engines in person.

Here are pictures from the chassis shop. The Alston front clip is in and the rear is getting mini tubbed in next week. We are going to make some improvements on the cage but the car is coming together nicely.

pretty cool-will that 90 deg. fit under the hood?
who makes the AN water by pass fittings, i was going to drill/tap mine out, but if someone sells them so much the better
wish i had thought out my 403 build a little better when i built it, and used the F1A instead of the D1SC, but its done, and clear. would be tighter towards the radiator-69 A body w/vette acces dr.
cant wait to see yours comp-does someone sell the direct drive as a kit, or is it one off (Jakes?)

Great questions and let me see if I can answer them for you.

1. Yes, we believe the 90 will fit under the hood although pretty tight. If we have to we will swap the 2" cowl for a 4" and that will take care of it.

2. Kurt Urban makes the AN water by pass fittings. You can contact him on here or via e mail. His name on LS1tech and Yellowbullet is 427. E mail is kuperf@aol.com

3. As of now the Supercharger Store was the only company selling direct drive/gear drive kits. Chris Alston Chassisworks started fabricating their own as they started to find the limits on their 598" BBC F3 alcohol True Ten 10.5 car. Alston Chassisworks also happens to be one of my sponsors and since we choose to use a Procharger he fab'd a LSx based direct drive. The one you see in the pictures is the first he has made. The second one will be on my Drag Radial car which is being built right now.

Good luck on your build and you will make plenty HP with the D1SC and you can always upgrade later.

We keep inching along and getting closer. Seems like this project will never get done... LOL.

Coming along nice. Did you use 1/2" head studs? Will this car be at the Shootout?

Hey Tim. I'm not 100% sure but I do believe Kurt used 1/2" head studs. It seems like we talked about it a couple of times so I think he did. Maybe he will chime in. We are working on trying to get it done in time for the LSX Shootout. I was Google mapping the trip last night and it is 1985 miles from my office to the track. Looks like a 3 day trip if we drive 12 hours on day 1 and 2 and about 6 hours on day 3. I hope we can make it!

The engine does have 1/2 head studs on the main 10 bolts with 3/8 on the additional 8 that are added with the aftermarket blocks. I would have changed a few things on this build had we known about the F2 supercharger in the begining of the build, but that is how most builds go!!

Thank you. We could always use some good luck but with Kurt and Theo on the job I think we will make it.

Default Intercooler Mounting Pics

We just keep getting closer. Kurt and Mark at Kurt Urban Performance in Michigan are putting the finishing touches on the intercooler. Kurt came up with the idea to mount the intercooler this way and I think it is turning out pretty nice. We will most likely use a remote water pump even though the Meziere race LS1 pump fits and clears. Kurt needs to finish some mock up and final clearance for the dry sump pump and alternator and we are ready for the dyno!

Last two are with the final welding in place and the blow off on the inlet side of the intercooler. Pretty trick.

Good question. Not sure what it will run. Its not an all out build and it has some parts that handicap it. My guess would be mid 9's.
