Do you think those manifolds would clear the a/c compressor?

As to why there is no boost on the transbrake, He is running 2 44mm wastegates which is way more wastegate than he needs. You gotta remember that wastegates are mechanical devices (specially w/o boost controller and CO2) so they are not an ON/OFF type thing. As you start building exhaust pressure, the wastegate will start to crack open. More so with a really soft spring. Add the fact that the WG 's are way big and it just takes them cracking open just a little bit to bleed off alot of pressure. If he put in the 8 psi spring, I would bet that he would have atleast 1-2 psi by the 4K RPM that he is launching. With this soft a spring, the 2 step will likely only give him 1-2 psi anyways so the answer is boost control + CO2 which will be coming very soon.

The main thing right now is just make sure that everything is working good. The new Holley EFI system is an absolute dream to tune on and the closed loop fueling holds target AFR VERY well all the way thru the passes without much tuning on my part. It also learns on each pass so that it has to make less corrections each time.

Another thing is that everything is setup way conservative. I'm sure that with his current compression and E85 at this boost level, we could be hitting it with 28-30* but it's only got 24* and the AFR is at 11.5 on a gas scale.

Joe's been pretty unlucky for the last couple of years so we are taking it slow and double checking everything to try and change his luck. LOL
oh, I see, so there is a 4psi spring in the gates. that explains it. Louis at GSS advised me to completely take out my springs first time at the track so I can tune it NA so I dont have any springs in my wastegates. it seems you guys have the same idea.

those 44mm wastegates are probably bleeding tons of exh pressure.

I wouldnt be at all surprised if you all see way more than 2psi at 4k rpm with the 8psi spring

Your PS breather setup looks nice. May I ask where did you get that from? Also, do you think your trans temp problems were caused by the cooler being to close to the turbo hot pipe? I'm asking because I have mine in back of the radiator too but NOT with a turbo. Is placing the cooler there a bad idea?

Yes. That's where mines at on a 82 Monte Carlo (Prochargered). One more thing, how is the fitting hooked up to the oil filler cap location. I want to run a setup like that.

He's running the flexalite pusher thin S fans. If I remember correctly the part # is 240 but don't hold me to that.

Cool, maybe you can get to the track on a Wednesday or Friday test and tune and catch us out there with one of the cars. PM me when you have your itinerary all figured out.

That is not a good location IMO. The airflow that you are getting is hot from the radiator.

The fittings on the valve covers are all TIG welded. We are fortunate to have a gifted welder/fabricator in our circle of friends and we each owe him our left nut.
