Default Lt1 turbo time, what is recommended by the turbo guys?

During the winter plans are changing and turbo kit it will be. So I have a 388 all forged bottom end and plan to use -31cc dished pistons. The cam will be custom and I will get that later in the transplant. I have Afr 210 comp. heads that were further ported by Phil at A.I. They still use 65cc and I will be using a fully ported lt4 intake, 58mm throttle body. All backed by a th400 and a 3.42 rearend for the turbo build. Now What headers are people using? Id like to make my own kit but if there is one out there for a decent price I might ****** it up. I have only the alternator on my engine and NO a/c, NO abs block. SO there is a lot of room under the hood. Im really thinking about a 76 trim but im open to other suggestions.

I have a VERY similar setup to yours....get a GT88 from Jose, you won't be disappointed thats for sure. Mine hits full boost a little under 4000rpm and starts at about 3400-ish. Its a tough fit but it can be done.

Jose is Dr. Turbo (Forced Inductions). I made mine 100% minus the BBK headers. No idea on power, doing 7psi right now, a$$ dyno feels like 470ish, but I can't really throw numbers out there without a dyno run.

Bad cellphone pics, but you get the idea. There's about 1" between the turbo and the water pump, and 1.5" between the turbo and radiator. Thats with the radiator as far forward as I could really put it. I've since redone the upper radiator hose (the black painted one) and a few other minor things, but you get the idea. I can get more if you want really showing the fit. Awesome turbo though, I absolutely love this setup. Very docile when normal driving, has good amount of torque under vacuum. When it spools it very quickly changes personality, very fun car to drive. Doesn't boost when you don't want it to, but will in any gear when its above 3400.

OH and your header question, I went with BBK shorties. The flanges are thick, the primaries are 16ga, and theyre HEAVY for a shorty it seems. Just a tip, you can't flip em backwards, the header won't let the steering shaft fit in. I ran mine like normal, and routed the pipes to the front. Most seem to run them under the crossmember but my car is lowered. I ran them above the crossmember and had to run the downpipe out the front, its a trade off. There's a thread on here where a guy made his own and ran a 4.5" DP out the back like I would've but I don't have the patience to make my own headers, BBKs are cheap anyways (used).

Those aren't SRP pistons, are they? The -31 cc dish rings a bell...
