Default need help from the turbo guys..what turbo?

I sold my procharger and building a turbo kit for my car. Quick run down... lq4 long block, main, head studs, rod bolts, turbo cam (still need to get one ground) vic jr intake w/ elbow etc, 3800 PI converter (if have to end up restalling it after car is driving) th350, 9" etc etc.

Anyways im looking all over the damn internet and see sooooo many different turbos with different a/r's, all different sizes, covers and so on. Im building this car as like a max effort car and looking to get everything out of it. Car will be on e85 to help it out on that fine line. What do you guys suggest? I know i want it to be at least a 80mm t6 turbo i just get lost since im still somewhat a newbie. So far this is turbo seems to fit and be a little badass turbo..

Stupid? Overkill? Badass? What do you guys think?

p.s. before the BAN crew gets here because of the ebay link, i plan on buying that turbo from a sponsor here its just the only actual combo i could find.

it doesnt say what kind of power its capable of making.. kinda weird in my opinion. id ask for more details thats damn near 2k so pay attention what youre getting. a lot of guys are running 88mm turbos.. i know those make good power.

That bullseye unit is a pretty badass piece for the price. I would go with the 96mm turbine as the 82mm turbine will choke when u push it. I bet it flow around 135-140lbs/min which should be good for 1400 flywheel hp. What heads are you running?

^^^I was thinking the same thing, free upgrade to a 96mm turbine is good oddly enough, last night a Bullseye turbo was descibed to me as "the cats ***" but im not entirely sure if thats good or bad haha.

if your going to be running pump gas and head studs with no o-rings then the block and/or head gaskets will be your power ceiling.

how much power do you really wanna make? for 900 (instead of more than double that) you can leave a little on the table and get a S400-80 ETT from forced inductions.

Several of the guys running E85 are using LS9 head gaskets with head studs and have had good luck. I'm running E85 and was recommended the LS9 head gaskets by someone with far more experience than I, so I ordered a set. I paid about $80 shipped from gmpartsdirect.

i'd call forcedinductions, they've got about 30 different s400 options. the turbo is very very upgradeable..

You should read this thread it has some decent info http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/in...topic=115573.0

Also Jose has mentioned an 82mm borgwarner cast wheel that flows 126 lbs/min, well here it what he said:

Standard Billet wheel off a CAT S300. We carry them on the shelf...lol. Also I would work on getting the new 82mm comp wheel from Borg. Its cast, but by far their BEST S400 wheel out (~126lbs/min). Billet is just a buzz word right now. The billet counterparts on the scales are heavier since their is no design change between the cast and billet . They are merely used for apps that exhibit alot of LCF situations. We have done some testing with the new 82mm wheel and its great.
In all reality a good 80mm unit will take you into the 8's if everything is setup right. The BW S480 will flow around 119 lbs/min but that is only with the race cover and a 96mm turbine wheel but that may be a bit more laggy than what you are looking for. If you could find a garrett gt-4780 for a decent price I think you would be really happy. If you prefer something to spool a few hundred rpm quicker than the Garrett for street use look into the BW 80mm with the 87mm turbine wheel.

Or hell if you really want a sweet setup with more potential go with the bw 82mm cast wheel with race cover and 92 mm turbine wheel. Sorry if this confuses you, maybe your best bet is to call forcedinductions.
