Supercharged set up
I recently spun a crank bearing on my basically stock LS1 block. I'm Gunna be tearing it apart and replacing that, so while it's out, I was wondering if I could get some help with a set up for it that would include a supercharger, or turbo. It's still going to be a daily driver, so I want it to be able to run on the street daily. Help would be greatly appreciated, where I haven't built an engine before.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Um, something around 5-600 horse maybe more, but still reliable for daily driving, fairly cheap, but not sacrificing reliability for money, decent MPG, fast, my car has 4.11 gears so something with a decent power band, but that I'll still hook up.

If you want my complete opinion, build a forged 347 with stock crank, compstar rods, either diamond or wiseco pistons (aim for about 9.0-9.5 SCR), either speed inc SC2 cam or brute speed cam, LS2 timing set, LS7 lifters, hardened pushrods, patriot gold springs, and stock 317 heads. If you have the funds to get better heads, dont waste money on a stock ported head, get aftermarket heads with thicker decks. Make sure to get ARP head studs (main studs would be good also if funds allow).
This setup will allow you to make full use of the D1SC. Start with relatively low boost (~8psi or so) and that will get you right into the range you want of 5-600 at the wheels. Once you are ready to step up, you are just a pulley swap (and a tune) away from another couple hundred rwhp without having to worry about your engine having to come out again, or having to swap out blowers.
I'd recommend going with a SD tune right from the start instead of screwing around with a MAF bandaid tune. May as well start with a 3 BAR to begin with which will allow for future upgrades down the road.
All this has a pretty high cost initially, but will save you tons of money in the long run. Trust me, I did it the hard and expensive way.

Here is the ProCharger D-1SC kit that I also add the extra items to it that are required. I recommend going with the Aster bracket and the front mount intercooler options. Bob

I know everybody is talking about prochargers, but if you can find a good shop to build you a turbo kit. It's just another option. My rear mount TA drives like stock unless I put it under load, then my 500+ HP comes out.
