black98ws6ta also went 10.0 in a 3800lb car with a stock 6.0 I think. Dont know what turbo was on it. The mustang has a 47-80. I am debating on just putting head bolts in my l33 and throwing it in because of him.

I just picked up a 5.3 with 862 heads on it out of a running 2003 suburban. I was going to put in an LS6 cam. Should I just leave the cam that is in it? I am shooting for sub 6 running mostly stock bottom end and twin pt 62's.

I think of it this way, take two exact same sbc engines except one has 305 smog heads on it and one has Dart 180s. If you put a 200 shot of nitrous on the 305 headed one and a 100 shot on the Dart headed one, they'll both run 10.0 at 134. Same thing with running a stock cam vs a little bigger one in a turbo engine, you can make the same numbers on the stock cam but it will take more boost which equals more cylinder pressure and heated intake air. Supposedly thats how it works in my head at least, your mileage may vary, there might be someone running 6s in the quarter mile with a stock cam come along and tell me Im wrong.

Also who will be the first person to suggest a "stock cam" class for the stock shortblock shootout next year? Maybe we can have a "stock springs" class too. Im all for "stock sparkplugs" and "stock sparkplug gap" class too.

If its still in the LS6 then it is stock... if you have it in anything but an LS6 it is not stock.
