Project: Stang' Bang: New Edge Turbo Build... class? Track?

Thanks guys, just a quick update, nothing too special, but i made some adapter brackets out of some round hollow steel, and some old metal brackets i had lying around. 1/2" spacer on the top and 3/8" spacer on the bottom and worked great, they are on their very solid and not going anywhere.
These are just normal aftermarket rails from an ls1/ls6, that i picked up form summit with the o'rings in the ends, very very nice piece, i had them on my gto and made them to adapt to the truck intake.
anyway, here ya go.

To be honest, it started off as "****, my throttle body isnt high enough" lol
I was having trouble getting things to line up with the cross over and the charge pipe coming through the fender going to the throttle body, it was too low and not giving me any space, was practically lying on top of the cross over and i didnt like that, i needed to use the truck water pump since it pointed up some, so combine those two things and the truck made more sense.
LOL, i didnt personally do it for any performance reasons, more to make my life easier, lol. But someone did mention that its better then an ls1 intake and closer in flow to the ls6. I cant help but think itll help me build more torque?

Bored... Felt like updating even though i dont have alot to update on...
Broke a damn Coolant temp sensor off in the passenger head so i now have to remove the damn head and see if i can get the **** out. Sucks!
Ordered a bunch more stuff, alternator, another new precision 46mm gate, so now i will have 2, one off each bank with probably the greatest priority you could ever make for them.
Brought home 15' of 2x3x1/8" wall box tube tonight, doing through the floor sub frame connectors and tying them into the actual sub frames. Should make for a pretty damn stout floor, i will have 4 - 2x3 out riggers, one in each corner of the cabin where the cage will tie into. So i should have some pics in the next few nights, havent started cutting the floor out yet.
Anyway, as soon as the cage is done, ill wire it, start it, drive it and kill the 5.3...
ugh

I plan to
well got one side cut out, and shaped, need to do a little more trimming on the piece to make it fit tighter then i should be able to weld this one in solid.
2x3x1/8" box from about 2" inside front frame rail, im not sure what the normal is, but i cut the top and bottom of the frame rails out so that the new piece would fit inside it and have good surface area to weld to.
Notched the rear to cup the rear frame section and again, to have more surface area. Got this idea from someone on bullet.
onward with the pics. Im trying to get the cage in before the end of this weekend coming up so i can get the wiring started, because the way i move, im gonna need all the time i can get with that.

Thanks man! im certainly looking forward to your results this season!
What tig welder do you use? Ive been heavily thinking about getting one, but dont know anything about them, i cant ever see myself needing to weld thicker then 1/2", and thats only if need to weld to my turbo flanges.

I found a used Miller Diversion 165 that was a perfect deal. The only thing I added was a foot pedal. Been great for everything so far, including welding pipe to thick turbo flanges. I know there are better, but for what I need it was a good investment for under $1000. Welds aluminum really nice also.
I still need to get a decent little mig welder. Sucks ***** trying to hold and tack with a tig.

Been a long day so far...
Question before i move forward, Side to side i have the halo is level, front to back, does it need to be? Ive got my main hoop tilted back about 3*, but i cant weld the halo in level front to back unless shorten the main hoop down. Any thoughts?
