Default Questions regarding Trans am FMIC mounting

First time posting so bare with me. I recently installed a TSP 402 in my ta. i have a D1 in there now but i'm looking to upgrade to a F1. i still have the dual procharger intercoolers in place but i want to purchase a FMIC from Bob at Brute Speed. My question is if there is anyone out there that has purchased a procharger FMIC and retained there foglamps and if so if i could see pictures of how it was done? Thank you in advance

With that intercooler you wont be able to keep them in stock mounting location. You can have a simple mount made and weld it to the sides of the intercooler, that would let you keep them. You could also buy a smaller intercooler, i think its made by mishimoto that isnt as wide. Ive seen a couple people keep them that way.

There may be an easier way but I had a customer who bought the FMIC from me for his TA and welded two small aluminum tabs to each end of the IC which made for a nice clean setup.

on the 98-02 you can cut a hole where your license plate is and that might be enough flow (on the lt1's cutting a hole is hard to look good) but with the set up your trying to run i would think you need the most airflow you can get

you can cut the middle of the actual bumper out and place the intercooler in between the two halves. itll keep you from having to cut the fog buckets.. u might have enough room to keep the fogs. but youll def want to cut the license plate. also, CXracing sells a 3" IC kit with a 4" intercooler with all silicon pieces and T-bolts for $255 shipped. Thats what i used. saves you $1200 that ATI wants for their damn IC setup...

i cut my fogs out, i like it

If you could tell me your parts list that would help out a lot. Also, ramairetransam, what blower are you using and do you have any more pics of your car? yours looks good with the fmic.

I've posted this a couple of times before, but it fits in with the replies so far. Its not the procharger intercooler, I went with a Treadstone core and welded on my own end tanks. But like was said previously, we just made new brackets for the fog lights. They are fully adjustable and easy to center in the fog light holes.

Here it is with the bumper on. Granted, we made a cover for the opening to make it a little less obvious, but you can see the fogs.

Prochargers intercooler and fogs are a no go! Here is how we did it.

Here is a car we built and few pictures I found of the intercooler this picture shows the tabs we welding on for the custom brackets that held the stock fog lights in place.

This whole build thread has tons of pictures showing how we made the fogs and intercooler work Page 6 has most of the pictures you will need.

I can promise you that with the ATI intercooler, which is indeed overpriced, you will have no room to put those lights back in. You have to trim the plastic housings to even let the bumper slip back on due to its sheer size. It is a thick *** FMIC. The Cx Racing will be a great setup, and you can most likely pay for it just by selling your current twins. Only reason I have the ATI is because it was included with the kit brand new and was only 200 more than the twins. pic in sig.

I had the twins and I sold them on here for $750. The cx racing FMIC is also very large. I had to cut my fof buckets to about 1.5" deep. I still need to trim them a little more. I still have a slight gap.

I had to ditch fogs too with my CXracing inter cooler however I think I could prob mock something up if I really wanted to keep them.... Here is how the middle cut out looks on a LT1 car...Not as nice as an LS but it gets the job done
