That welder will work just fine!! I've used them plenty and the welds are strong; just more clean-up involved with those machines. Only question I have is, why is the top raised? By all means it does look good and with clean up and paint will look better.
Keep up the good work!

the raised top is because i needed clearance for the stud on the bottom to be able to go low enough to fit it in the hole and then be able to slide it over the top of the trans. plus it gave it a nice "Chinese hut" feeling lol i have more to add so I'll post pics hopefully later tonight or tomorrow.
thanks

Looking good! There is an anti-spatter spray that will help the clean up if used before welding. You can also keep the welder tip cleaner if after the tip heats you dip it into some axle/bearing grease. I've did this and it works great, but the tip must be really hot.
I work on a sea-going barge and while we are at shipyards for repairs; I see more and more yards using these little flux core welders in place of arc welders.
Keep up the good work!

Hmmm, good question. My mounts for the Lemans were too short so I am having a friend notch the cross member just a little and mount the trans. I put the motor in the C10 this morning, and tomorrow I will work on getting the trans bolted up.
