Flux core wire, eh? God bless you lol! I made a few welds with it and couldn't do it. Went out and picked up a tank after that and my welds looked a million times better.
Great looking project you've got there as well. Looks like your doing some nice work and it should move when your done. I'm not so sure you will hit the 850 RWHP goal, but regardless it should make some good numbers. Most turbo 5.3's are in the 500-600 RWHP range. I def think 700 is possible with either E85 or race gas, but 850 is a lot for a stock bottom end. Either way, best of luck on the build! I'll keep an eye on it.

thanks for the input.. i have to say check out this artical http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/h...g_bang_theory/on stock 5.3's and hp. 1,203hp on stock bottom end is pretty impresive this article is what made me choose the 5.3, and at the end of it you find out it was'nt even a 5.3 it was a 4.8. when it finally failed it was'nt the bottom end it was electrical. i'm hoping to get some crazy numbers. the turbos i'm using are just the starting point.
thanks

I've seen that article in hot rod. Very impressive on a 4.8 none the less! I was always under the impression that engine dyno's were nowhere near as tough on an engine as actually driving it is. Thats why I ussually take engine dyno tests with a grain of salt. But there is no doubt that the truck blocks have been proven to hold some big numbers. I'm shooting for 600ish RWHP on mine to try to make it last. I'm def curious to see what you will squeeze out of yours though!

Just a heads up but truck manifolds stock will not fit facing forward in our cars. I think we even figured that if you cut the flang and put a V-Band on it it wouldn't work. Maybe a set of flipped C6 manifolds?
