Im buying a vortech system for an LS1. My question is, can I get a diff. pulley size to up the boost. I would like at least 12lbs, and is there anything else that I can get to upgrade this system. Thanks for all your help.

yes..u can pully down...u might need a 2.75 or 2.5 depending on you altitude.
the only upgrade for the system (that I know of) is a T-Trim .. and YSI - Trim. (same bracket)

You can pulley down and get alot of power out of that little g-trim. When you change pullies you will have to retune the computer to get the air fuel right. If you don't you will go lean and break pistons. You can go down to the 2.75" pulley with the stock vortech fuel system and tunning. You should make 550-575 RWHP. With the 2.5" pulley you will need to upgrade the fuel system. I just removed the vortech booster pump and stock pump. I installed twin walbros in the tank, with stock lines and rail. When I switched to the 2.5" pulley and tunned it, I was running out of fuel up top around 6k rpms.

Upgrading to a Y or YS or YSi head unit (I have YS) is essentially buying a bigger head unit. Most of those head units retail for $2500, you can't trade in your current head unit, and the bigger ones won't fit in your brackets. You can get custom brackets made but you might want to enjoy the G-trim for a while first.

Thanks Pro Stock John, would the T-trim fit my bracket? See Im trying to build this sytem right the first time. I have a 427 that it's going into, so I need a unit that wont fall on its face when Im trying to push it. The heads will be flowing 340 when there done.

No, A T-Trim won't just fit into the G-Trim brackets. You would need to open up your G-Trim brackets or or get custom brackets mad. Chris aka Z8's can make custom brackets by using your stock G-Trim brackets as a reference.
Now a T-Trim is good for over 800fwhp, maybe 900fwhp... not sure where it would max out.
But I'm not sure if the base aftercooler is going to support the T-Trim either.
But if i were building a 427ci and adding a blower I would definitely run at least a T-Trim, and I would get custom brackets made and then I would sell the G-Trim and the brackets together. I know that Chris (Znines@earthlink.net) has gotten a few queries for T-Trim brackets so I can maybe see him making a batch. If anyone in the Chicago area has a G-Trim car he could look at for a 1-3 hrs please let him or me know. Coopdog if you see this post HOLLA.

You can order the 2.75" directly from Vortech.
The part number is 2A038-275 $74.95
You must also buy a smaller belt. Your kit comes with part number 2A038-495 which is 49.5 inches long. You want somewhere around 48.5 inches, but Vortech doesn't sell it. Try a local parts store.
