this car rocks!

Do you run a return fuel line?
What size and type of lines?
Stock fuel rail?
Type of regulator?
Pics of fuel system?

As soon as I get this voltage issue squared away I will be back on the dyno to see what the intercooler will do. Then, back to the track.,

I also am picking up an LS6 intake and I want to see if that is worth anything over the LS1.

UPDATE!

Made 851 RWHP yesterday on 18 psi. Still fighting issues, but we got the power to peak at 6400 and plateau, instead of falling off of a cliff. I think we may have valve spring issues, so that is next. Also picked up a Typhoon intake from a friend, so I will try that out. Alternator did its job. Slowly, I am getting there. I am still running low timing, only 13 degrees here:

You can almost tell it goes flat toward the end of the pull. Air,fuel and rpms are what makes power and your going to improve all three of them. I say it makes almost 900 with the changes you are making.

What are you using to hit 850rwhp? Im doing an iron block bored to 5.7 forged pistons and rods, 317 heads, cam and higher rated springs for boost, LS9 head gaskets, ARP head studs, LS6 intake and twin 61mm turbos and font mount intercooler. I WANT to be 800+rwhp only using pump gas NO meth and im assuming 18lbs of boost. So im very interested to know your set up to hit 851rwhp

The current setup is:

LQ4 block
Callies Compstar rods
Wiseco pistons
PRC Stage 2.5 CNC ported 243 heads
LS9 gaskets, E-Bay head studs
Lil' John's Motorsport Solutions cam, 235-237, .610 lift, 115+5
LS1 intake
80 pound injectors
12 GPH of methanol from 10 psi up
BW S480 turbo with race cover and 1.32 A/R turbine
4L80E with Circle D triple disc billet, reworked by Ultimate Converter
Custom 2.25 hotside
Custom Garrett intercooler with 5 inch core

I did this pull on 18 psi and 13* of timing. I was going to go to 20-22 psi, so I had a few gallons of FUSE 116 unleaded in the tank mixed with 93. However, I ended up not doing it. Generally, I like some race gas in there above 15 psi. However, I am very cautious.

Because until Mike can put fresh plugs in it and read them after a pull the timing will stay at 13-14*.

It's making dumb power for 18psi the way it sits right now, really no need to cram timing down its throat.

I'd rather turn up the boost and leave the timing low. Timing is what wrecks engines. I like managing the cylinder pressure the engine is making by running low timing and running a lot of boost.

I didn't realize 16 degrees was cramming timing down an LS throat.

It is no slouch for sure, not denying that, I just think its going to need timing sooner than later.

What Martin said, he has been helping me tune the car since I swapped this motor in back in May and we have made some great strides.

In my experience, every time I push the timing something breaks. So, I will keep it conservative and alive.

The last time I hit it with 15* I melted a plug and bent a valve 900 feet out and coasted to a 9.3 after a 5.9 in the 1/8. The car will run 8's as it sits on 18 psi. Once the intake and springs are swapped, I think it will make more power without the need for much more timing. I prefer to sneak up on this. I am in no rush.

What plugs are you running on this setup?

Congratulations on your progress. Outstanding... And "Conservative and alive" is a good thing. More time racing... less time wrenching.
