The Hi-Ram is the ONLY way to go for the money. Not the Mini Ram. GM would not use any intake on their top shelf car "COPO" if it didnt work. You know they have done hours of testing.

When the dual 4bbl dual plane intake came out (that they use with the miniram) I ordered one for my Cadillac.

Sent it back upon receiving it. Internally, it looked like the worst intake manifold I have ever seen. Would be surprised if it didn't lose at least 50hp to a stock intake.

I was told by a pretty good source the mini ram sucks, dont buy it. Buy the hi-ram if it will fit.

Gotta agree with the consensus.. That mini ram looks poopy. Run the factory/FAST or the High Ram, maybe even the Pro Flo..

Yeah, inspection overlooks a lot, but not having windsheild wipes isn't one of them.

Super chevy tested it on a dyno (vs a victor jr, both carbed) and it equaled it on top and just destroyed it down low.

So far it looks like it is a very good peice. My old ported GM Performance Single plane intake dropped the flow on my ported heads about 10 percent but only dropped the flow of the Mass LS3 Small bore head about .5 percent (these are very good heads for the small bore engines (LS1 bore)). Keep in mind the GM intake did not have a TB on it but it does have an elbow.

Something else to note, the stock LS3 manifold kills my head and the Mass Motorsport LS3 Small bore head, and the Fast intakes? Well they are better then stock but no were as good as the single planes even with the elbows, at least on these two heads.

The Hi ram did not reduce the flow numbers of either head and it had the 92mm TB installed on it! I left it with the shop becasue they wanted to flow it on a set of Mass Motorsports LS7 heads he had there. I will post up the results of that test when he is done.

So far the HI RAM will at least keep up with m heads and we will see this week what it can do on the MMS LS7 head. I would say the improvment through the intake will be worth the trouble to modify the car to fit it.

good info, thanks for posting up your experience with it... I too have been eyeballing some Mast rect. port heads, but $$ I do not have at the moment.
I was thinking of pairing them with the new Hi-ram when I save up some more cash over winter.... COPO truck, anyone? haha.

I bought this intake for my build and haven't put it on yet. I heard from the justin smith that this intake is having issues with the egts. what i was told is that he has done quit a few egt logs from a motor with the intake and the cylinders were all over the place. Some as big as 600* difference. Is anyone else having this problem? or seen anything similar? im very curious as i may be switching intakes now because of this

600°!?!? I don't even see how that would be possible.

Curious what they are switching from and if they are trimming individual cylinders before or after?

I expect to get my intake back from the porting shop that I loaned it out to after Thanksgiving. He has probably flowed it on the Mass LS7 heeads by now but I have not checked in with him yet. I will post up a brief report on his results in the next week or two.

I will look into installing 8 EGT on my setup and see if I can get any results. But I do not plan to fire this thing up until after Christmas.

I believe Kevin at Virginia Speed has done alot of work with the Hi Ram. Maybe he could give us some insight on the EGT question posed here.
