Nope no Ebay rods.
Went to the track Friday night and it didnt turn out too well.
Ran a few mid 10's at 132-143 mph working on the launch which was painfully soft. Bumped up the two step to try and get some much needed boost on the line and got it to 5lbs at 3500 and broke the rear axle yoke. Also pushed a little water on the 143mph pass so I think I will probably pull the heads in the next week and take a look. Until next time..

Good luck getting yours fixed and all back together. I understand about drivetrain upgrades following a turbo install.

Not to step on LS1Nova's thread too much, but I'll give my info for the sake of research:
Cometic .040" thick headgasket with ARP studs and AFR225 heads.
18 psi boost; 17 degrees timing; 11.2-11.5 AFR; seeing 160 to 170F intake air temps using 93 octane.
That held up for a 5.87 1/8 mile pass but playing on the street eventually must have had a little detonation and hurt the head gasket around #8 cylinder. I think for my setup I'll limit it to 15-16 psi on 93 octane.

We do the same with E85. Tune on the e70 winter blend usually don’t see lower than 70% then run the E80-90% stuff at the track. I run the ls9 gasket, (8.6:1) ARP studs torqued to ARP specs. AFR around 10.2 , 21lbs, 18*. Plan to turn it up to 26-28 eventually.
I believe skinnies ran the LS9 gasket as well with no issues on all his L33 builds. Those get leaned on pretty hard!

I just read this thread from Beginning to end and the one conclusion I came to besides the fact of how awesome and extremely clean this car is the fact that your Wife seems like a awesome woman haha any woman that tells you to build your motor more then you intended is a keeper lol But anyways awesome build cant wait for you to get it fixed and get a good pass out of it

Pulled the heads today and found some water pushing by on the bottom of cylinder 7 and also a little bit on 4 and 6. We'll see how the new gaskets hold up the remainder of the year. It has the power to go 8's, just have to get it out of the hole on some boost. Advancing the cam 4 degrees while its apart should help some.

No transbrake. No boost on the footbrake without the two step. At 3500 on the 2 step it will make 4-5psi. Just swapped out the cam for something a little smaller than the 231/235 that was in it. Spool is improved. Will be at LSfest but regulated to 200 treadwear tires so who knows what 1/4 mile times will be.. 10.0 at 145 lol.

Just wanted to say before Ls fest I didn't know of this car or driver. I'm new to the FI so the Nova caught my attention. Once I found it in the pits I couldn't get over how nice and clean everything looked. Then the owner walked up and he answered all the questions I had. (With no hesitation unlike some people I encountered). But anyway just wanted to say thanks for your time and if Iived closer to you that I wouldn't hesitate to ask you to build my car. Its just nice to know their are still down to earth car people.
