If you have the ground clearance i would definitely angle it like sarg said. When i had mine angled i lost some ground clearance do that's why i leveled it out. Either way though the intercooler will work

Its the stock pump from the truck accessories. My dad fabricated a 1/4" steel bracket that bolts to the stock alt/power steering bracket. I don't think the pump will clear the steering rack in stock position so that's why he made it for me. I can get more pictures this weekend when i work on it

i got some good news and bad news. bad news is my cage wont pass certification how it sits right now. good news is that i can make a box from the frame to attach to the main hoop on the floor plates so that i WILL pass certification. ill also throw gussets inside the cab where my welds didnt go all the way around that good. i was planning to finish it before march 21 so i could enter it in world of wheels car show but i dont want to rush things together so i think ill skip that and take my time to have it ready before april 20th when the track opens

not much of an update because i didnt have that many parts come in the mail. this was from this past weekend but i just got around to posting it up

welded my manual brake conversion to the firewall

got about 1/4" clearance

got the catch can recomended by a4ls2goat in denmahs thread

finished welding dash in. just gotta put guages in and paint it

this upcoming weekend ill be able to put all the guages in, paint some stuff, finish rad hose and tranny lines, paint some more stuff, get a few things wired and i think i might adjust the driver side down pipe because its right against the floor board and i dont like it so ill probably be moving that. i might be able to start it this weekend or once the rest of my tax money comes and i receive my next paycheck.

Looking good man! Think that dash will rattle much? It sure looks like it will be killer looking when you get done with it.

Thanks guys yeah that catch can is very nice and its like half the price as a moroso haha. The dash is pretty sturdy actually i tacked it to the cage as well so it won't move as much. If it does oh well lol

Thanks!

i think my 4.5" grinder/cutter killed itself today. I need to take it apart and try to fix it. That's going to holds me back on a few things

ive been getting questions on what header kit i used so in case anyone else is wondering heres what i used. its only like $135 total in materials then you cut them and weld yourself.

Here's the header kit

And here's the flange kit

i dont have much updates because i had to plow today and i got a wedding later so i wont be outside until tomorrow after i pick up a bike for a friend. anyway, after hearing wickeds results with the 862's on the lq4 i bought some for cheap off ebay and ill be porting them the right way this time throughout the summer so i probably wont put them on until after this season. im going to try these gt35's out and see what i can do at the track with them. next year im slapping the ported 862's on and either getting bigger twins or going with a t6 turbo of some sort either a s480, gt88/gt91, or a large frame unit like the pt91.5 with f trim wheel (110mm turbine i think). g trim wheels are like 130ish mm and that wont have great spool manners. i still want to drive it on the street but i want to eventually put this thing into the 8's. by that time ill probably have it into a 370. anyway i figured i might as well think out loud for a bit just to give everyone an idea where this thing is going to end up.

Looking great! getting a lot of WI residents on your thread, feeling the pressure for next month? What event are you going to at rock falls? maybe I'll get there also if they have some t&t, my jimmys almost ready, I'm thinking of switching to the holley efi at the last minute, not sure thou, I'll have something ready.

Thanks guys. I haven't been able to do much because my friend just picked up a cbr600 today so we been ripping that apart and I'm doing all the fabricating for that so i wasnt able to touch the truck at all. I might be out in the garage after work every day this week though to try to get as much done as possible. I'm going to rock falls on April 20th because that's when the track opens. I still have allot to do before its track ready or even start it for that matter. My 4.5" grinder **** the bed so i can't even finish my cage right now and its kinda pissing me off holding me back big time. Why are you switching to Holley efi?It looks allot better than hp tuners but its to expensive for me.

To be honest I dont know to much about tuning efi, I am eager to learn it but dont want to be limited to the stock efi, I have another car that has a blow thru E85 carb on it that seems to have a limit as how much hp you can make with it, without spending the same money as it would cost to go efi. I theory I was going to use holly efi on the jimmy then get another holly efi for my other car, there capable of running two sets of injectors per runner, I would like to go methanol so I need more than just one injector, it seems like the sky is the limit with what you can do with holley efi. I just dont want to try learning two different programs and then trying to remember what is what. What event is happening on April 20th? test and tune? I'd be game for that.

Dude. Get this thing done all ready! I am ready to see it run. I know it is a lot of work. The A body is a pretty easy install and conversion. Yours looks like it took a ton of thought and work. I can't wait to see how it does.

Hey don't you have any concerns about the brakes on this? You have a header that is RIGHT below your master cylinder and a brake line that is RIGHT by part of the exhaust. I know you have header wrap on that, but I am pretty sure that amount of heat is at best going to have your brake fluid close to boiling temps........at worst, no brakes on the big end. I doubt tech would let that fly. Also, when you were complaining about the cage, and it not stating to weld it to the frame, those are only recommendations. If your building it for a sanctioning body, it is always best to get their rule book. You seat belts will also have to be remounted to the cage, in a specific spot. You will need the seats first.

I am not trying to beat on you. I think some of that turned out real nice. But there is a reason they have all the rules they do. It's to keep people safe, so they don't weld fence pipe in a car and call it a cage (seen that actually).
