Looks like this one's been around for a few years. BEFORE the Ky-Turbo Jelly Racefab & Chassis, Inc, LLC...

See:

Dates back to 2008.

Sorry for the guys that got taken man. Hope the OP tries to set things right. With the economy in the *******, people do crazy things to get or keep their money...even more so when they have been gipped.

Sub chapter S and C corp are almost the same other than double taxing the sole owner. I'm a C corp and switching to a sub s to save on taxes and if I ever sell the business, the shelters are the same.

I've had an S-Corp a long time, went with that over a C for the reasons that Andy pointed out.

Good luck to the guys involved.

It's always the same formula and it will continue to happen so long as people are willing to put up with it.

i would suggest to anybody wanting to go turbo to buy the tools and do it yourself if you think you are even remotely capable. sure it may not look as nice and you may have to change it a couple times but atleast you will have the tools, knowledge and most important no one to rip you off.

part of me regrets having this kit built because i could have just bought a tig, mig and everything else i needed to make a it and probably had some cash left over and the pride of building it myself. aww well its still a really nice kit i guess. i can atleast be proud stainless works built the headers... dunno who built the rest???

That guy is a douchebag plain and simple. Even if you are going out of business you at least call the customers that have cars at your shop and let them come get their cars. You don't leave people's property there for someone else to be responsible for trying to return it. He took the easy way out because he wasn't man enough to face his failure. If he would have had liability insurance with a garage keepers rider policy then he would have been covered when his shop was burglarized. Bad business either way you look at it. I don't feel sorry for him at all. How much you want to bet he has spent money on things that weren't necessities over the years for personal use, vacations, vehicles etc etc instead of spending it on the proper insurance to cover his business and customers. I have heard this story too many times and there is no excuse for these type of people. They are just rotten businessmen with rotten character and no integrity.

I understand the insurance problem. In our bussiness insurance drops you all the time for no reason and can do so with a 30day notice. Happened to us. No claims, problems for our 3 years open and insurance dropped us. Took me 1.5 mo0nths to get another carrier. In that 1/2 month of no coverage we made sure no cars wetre left here that we couldn't cover out of pocket if needed.

I would say this though. IF we were in the same boat of being robbed that much with no coverage I would be forced to close down right then. No way I could cover those costs.

He could of made good and took those donations and paid for the stuff taken, then work a stupid amount of hours to make this right. Would of been hard but could of been all done in a year.

I feel bad for the people that got ripped off.You guy's definitely did not deserve that.

For a new business they already have sold quite a bit on ebay.

I want to come in here and defend Andy. He is a friend and also built my cold side and radiator support on my fbody turbo build. I can assure you 100% that andy and his racefab has NOTHING to do with josh and kytp.

Andy has been in the game for quite some time and is a great fabricator. but don't take my word for it, a simple google search while typing race fab will net you results. Case in point http://totalruckus.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=34764 this is from 2009, so no, none of it is a coincidence.

Racefab in NM was in a partnership with another local shop for a bit but Andy has gone on his own once again, as the FB and his website display on the recent move to another location.

Good to know, and interesting delivery
So that is settled now, do you think he was trying to capitalize on your shop's name/reputation or something?

You are correct. The thief was Ky turbo. He wasn't delivering what he said after taking money. The so called "breaking" was nothing more than an excuse. Some parts got taken. In a year he could have made good on at least half the "stolen" parts. He didn't make good on any of them by the sounds of it. He was taking money for nothing according to several posts here and it started before the supposed break in.
