Default ~Procharger budget build~

Alright here are my plans with what I have and what I plan on getting in the future. Any suggestions to help in a positive way are much appreciated!

First off I picked up a D1sc head unit for $1380 with 3k miles on it... I'm thinking of going with the cxracing intercooler kit off ebay for $260. Parts I plan to pick up from brute speed are crank pin kit $100, air filter assembly $200, procharger fan shroud, ati boost gauge, and some other random parts. Planning to run a 16" spal fan to keep it cool.

I only plan to run 5-7psi for awhile until I get the transmission built! I will post everything in order and add up the total below.

D1sc head unit-$1380
cxracing intercooler kit-$275
Proflow Bullet bypass-$125
8-rib J bracket-$225
8-rib Pulley+bolt-$65
crank pin kit-$100
ATI super damper-$435
Procharger pulley+belt-$140
Spal fans + procharger fan mount-$280
air filter+hat-$200
Ati boost gauge-$70
Procharger Oil- $28

Sold SLP U/D pulley-$120
Sold Crank Pin kit-$30
Sold SLP Grille-$180?
Sold Stock fans-$60

So total is at $3,320. Any parts you guys see that I'm leaving out? Any recommendations?

Parts in bold have already been purchased. All that's left to buy is the cxracing intercooler!

you don't mention anything about your fuel setup, I would at the very least install a single 255lph pump, and twins if you plan to up the boost once your trans is up to the task.

skip the 6 rib setup , do not get it m do 8 rib . do two puller fans not a pusher setup.

why not run stock fans? wont they fit with the D1SC?

Stock fans and shroud won't work. Have to buy a procharger or make your own shroud

Sorry I didn't mention that. I have the racetronix and hot wire witch is saposed to be good to like 600hp or so. Also have racetronix 42lb injectors so I might need to upgrade to a little bigger injector...

I agree 100% with going straight to an 8-rib setup with a spring loaded tensioner, specifically Aster's bracket. With a new water pump, it's like $700'ish, but includes the bracket and standoffs and pulleys. The extra couple hundred dollars is worth it when you don't have to worry about belt slip. Eventually, you'll get it, then look to upgrade, and you won't get back what you spent on the 6-rib setup.

Definately go 8rib. You will have to add an ATI Super damper and crank pinning kit to the shopping list to use the 8 rib pulley though. Your injectors will be too small aswell.

I was wanting to keep a/c and i'd either have to put alot more money into to do so or custom route pipes and than still have alot more money into it. Plus i'm not looking to make crazy hp. I found a good deal on a d1sc so I think I can be into a s/c kit a little cheaper, keep my a/c, and have an easier install process.

Not sure it's cheaper to go Procharger, even the route you're taking, but it's nice not to have to rely on others to do the fabrication unless you have those skills and equipment to do so. Also, like you said, it's a weekend bolt-on project that really is enjoyable. There's nothing really too complicated about it.

D1SC's are good up to around 800rwhp depending on appication (auto vs stick, etc), which is quite fun on the street.

Aster bracket without Doubt. do it right the first time! I Have a build thread that you might find usefull shouldn't be hard to find

Well I am getting an 8-rib setup, but not the aster bracket. I figure the 8-rib should be good for 6-8 psi right?

Update I bought an 8-rib j-bracket, 8-rib crank pulley for $300 shipped.

Well I was going to have about $4600-$5000 into an a/c kit and that was getting a really good price IMO. And I think with this kit with the total I have made up in the original post I should be able to get this finished up just under $4k. So I think it will be a few hundred cheaper and more reliable IMO.

JJ sells alot of prochargers. seems like he was selling one when I was looking for one.

Glad to see you bit down on the 8 rib setup. you can look into the poor mans beltwrap method. some have had great success with it while others felt they wasted time. as long as your around 8-10 lbs it should hold pretty well. After that you may want to splurge and grab the aster or the SDCE bracket.

the hardest part of the install, to me was pinning the crank. Other than that it went smoothly. Label the bolts and where they go. bag em up. youll be done in 2-3 days even if its your first time as long as you have basic knowhow .

I highly doubt it will be any cheaper. But it will be quicker to install, less hassle, and youll make some great power. Blower all the way. Makes some neat noises too. Brandon's car is a stock bottom freak IMO

Your Welcome I am using Prochargers fan shroud and Spal 16" fan.

Lol.. I was trying to sell my kit a few times after a few engine problems. You know how the boost bug gets you, i finally got all the bugs worked out. The D1SC was a great little blower but i am craving more power. So i bit the bullet and bought an F1R.
