No you can't but if he is going to Mooresville he should be fine to race.

Going to Farmington. Same concept though. They don't care. Ill be relocating it when I tear car back apart. Probably low in trunk area that way its out of the sunlight and separated from the interior. However it needs to be to pass a real tech inspection.

Well it was truly a fun night. Lots of friends out having a good time. Nice to see all the Tick Performance crew out testing a few fast rides including one nasty Mustang. Im not a drag racer but I thought the track wasn't in the best shape. I tried going out on a lot of tire pressure (like 24psi) thinking I could hook with maybe a 2700rpm 2step launch and save the stock 10 bolt for a while. Wasn't happening. Even a low rpm launch it blew the tires off worse than street tires. So bad it was like the car didn't even move while spinning so when I hit 2nd I was rolling so slow it just bogged. Really frustrating so the best mph I got was 103. Basically only had half the track where turbo was online. So after having enough I dropped tire pressure to 16psi and set 2step to 3300rpm. Heated the tires up big time this time. Staged up, and BAMMMMMMMMM!!!! Busted rear. Guess its time to start this new build on the car I been talking about lol.

Good picture taken here of mine and Steven Sigmon's car going into the burnout. His car also was having some issues.

Yeah Im pondering the idea of auto again after last night even though I know my new rear stuff will handle the abuse. Cause after that my trans will be on borrowed time. I could sale trans like it is and almost fund a used glide. We will see after I get my rear stuff finished up and installed. When it come to purchasing driveshaft then ill make my decision since the length will probably depend on the trans choice.

I'll take some pictures when I take it out. Still rounding up my third member. When I get it I'll install everything.

I hated to see you go home without a good pass Stephen. I didn't even know that you broke the rear end until after you had already left.

I agree the track had little to no tack at all. I did find some sticky spots I was able to line Jonathan and Jamie into, but it wasn't the best.

Good to see you there at least and we did have fun! Any time you can put three street cars with tags, titles and insurance in the 5 second zone and another one in the low 6's...it's a good night!

Yeah especially with very little prep on the track. Farmington usually does better than that. Literally had better traction on my street tires last time. But I guess dropping the pressure way down and enough heat in the tires was enough to make to 10 bolt cry. What does your trans consist of? Built pretty good? Don't forget to ask Jonathan!!

TH400 im about set on. I glide is ideal for race only but with the TH400 I can run a higher rear gear so street manners are ok. Plus will give me some crazy top end mph capability. All this because ill have the extra gear in the tranny to get the heavy car rolling. Also going to sell my LS1 engine while it is still in good running condition. I mean it has a good size cam in it and should be worth something lol.

I also may be selling my AIS Trunk Mount Methanol kit with the twin 10gph nozzles. In the future I want to keep it simple as possible. Pump gas or race gas. I just gotta find time to remove all this stuff from the car lol.

If it's coming apart anyway, might as well do it all at once and get it over with!

I was under the (maybe misguided) impression that the final drive gear in both the glide and the TH400 was 1:1 ratio? So top end with both would be the same wouldn't it?

I think he means because he will have a 2.48 first gear to get him moving instead of a 1.76 or 1.82 first gear so he can run a 3.25 rear gear instead or say a 3.73 and still get off the line good. They are both a 1:1 final gear ratio.
