75mm vs 88mm. I'm the one who's going to need the leave! Haha

Race weight will probably end up at 3500. The car still has 160# of dynamat and a full sound system.

haha Thanks guys.

Been busy helping my best friend move into his new house, but I did manage to get a bit done tonight.

Ran some short A-pillar bars up to the dash bar, which I made of 1-5/8 and tied into the OEM A-pillar. Then for extra rigidity Im putting little X's in the doors.

I think this design is a good compromise for my little streetcar.

Tomorrow, I have to finish the drivers side door X and figure out how Im going to do my front frame rails.

I got most of the parts I ordered. I am just waiting on the tubing.. Im pretty much stuck until I get that.

Haha! Nice quote. That was from 5/19/2009. For the record- I was talking about welding shock tower seams......NOT chopping a car in half.

Just be careful when putting things back together. Measure everything 10x to make sure things are straight. And make those welds count- no failures.

Yea, definitely. I never posted pictures here, but I build a tube chassis Fiero for a chassis design project, and that turned out damn near perfect, so this is really no big deal.

Probably, but still no changes that would keep it from being DD-able... Sure most people think Im crazy, and they're probably right.

This will make it super easy to work on. I really hate out engine bays... so problem solved.

My future plans will leave this car as my "small tire grudge car".
Then I want to build a ~500whp turbo T/A, everything bone stock, T56, A/C, no chassis mods. Which will take over DD duty.
Then I will get to work building my big tire car.

haha, This year I plan to spend a lot of time at the track(Ive never ran at the track). so next year, I hope to get a feel for what class I'd like to build a car for.

Awesome man I will be watching this build. Gotta just jump in and do it that's how we did my car I took out the sawzall and went for it. It's just metal.
In the next year or so doing the same just deciding if outlaw 10.5 or what class I want to run

Yeah we need updates!! You were the final bit of inspiration I needed to start chopping more on my car (and other things). After asking you about your tools/toys a while ago I've finally acquired a tig welder, mig welder, and a tube bender... ***** about to get real

With those tools your acquired, you're bound to really "F" things up.

I have to say from looking at the last picture in this thread. I do not think this car is put back together or road worthy. I mean there is nothing left of it. If it is back together does anything line up? Dare I mention hows the alignment on that thing?

Be cool to see it done but sadly this car will probably never see the road again.
