I never had a problem welding zinc, the thing you need to be extremely careful of is brake cleaner. I used it to clean some parts but always made sure to let it all evaporate before welding.

May 1996
I. CHEMICAL AGENTS
ZINC
Zinc is used in large quantities in the manufacture of brass, galvanized metals, and various other alloys. Inhalation of zinc oxide fumes can occur when welding or cutting on zinc-coated metals. Exposure to these fumes is known to cause metal fume fever. Symptoms of metal fume fever are very similar to those of common influenza. They include fever (rarely exceeding 102o F), chills, nausea, dryness of the throat, cough, fatigue, and general weakness and aching of the head and body. The victim may sweat profusely for a few hours, after which the body temperature begins to return to normal. The symptoms of metal fume fever have rarely, if ever, lasted beyond 24 hours. The subject can then appear to be more susceptible to the onset of this condition on Mondays or on weekdays following a holiday than they are on other days."

pulled the stock tank and sump, cut it and fitted a 044 and ran my own wiring harness in to power it

pulled the hotside and everything out, ready to yank the motor, build the trans, do the valvesprings and then throw it back in for good.

sometimes there is a disk in that other smaller line, if your using it for a return it doesnt flow right, pop the disk or cut it off.
Isnt the fuel pump going to face forward instead of to the rear.

i ended up having trouble getting it installed with that short hose, i put on a longer one and reinstalled, the pump sits laying flat on the back of the tank now, it works great i plugged it into a spare battery and it rips, so as long as i am accelerating i should have plenty of fuel so long as i am over 1/4 tank or so of fuel.

Is that a first style internal harness? What year of vehicle is that trans out of? I ask cause my internal harness' bulk connector end that connects to the external harness looks the same. I got an updated external harness and need to order a new internal harness.
I am sure i read somewhere the first design internal harness leaked at the case.
