Default Vortech owners who is running the 2.5"pulley with G-trim?

I want to know who is running the 2.5" pulley and if they have a G-trim with strait cut gears or the SQ version (This is the standard V9 kit sold for the Camaros) and how old is it ETC... How many have herd of or have had problems with it and does anyone know of one that has Grenaded lately by overspinning the impeller? I want to run one but I don't want to if all the guys running the 2.5" pulley are all using the HD strait cut gears. Thanks.

well you already know I have a Straight cut G-trim. It's 3 years old and no problems with the 2.5" pulley so far.

Mike M a friend told me that in another post you had mentioned that you ran an EWP with your Vortech kit. If this is correct did you have to do anything to get the SC belt to clear the EWP. Thanks Dave

Mike do you have the strait cut gears or the SQ version? If it is quiet it probably the SQ's and how old is your unit? SJH is your car a dailly driver or a weekend car? How hard are you on it when you do drive it ETC...

Mike M with the 2.65 pulley how much boost where you runing, and is that a Ttrim or Gtrim.I would probably see about 3lbs less with my setup then you with a 4.10 bore you think?

I have the straight cut G-trim. and its about 3 yrs old now. Caveman I never got to make a full out pass to see how much boost I gained from the 2.85 to the 2.65. I would guess it was atleast 2 more lbs over the 2.85 which only gave me about 6-7lbs. Im not sure you would loose that much boost having a bigger bore. maybe some of the guys witht he strockers and stuff could answer that better.

Mike did you order it like that or is that how your kit came? Is there an easy way to tell if you got strait cut gears?

It's a weekend car and not a daily driver.
When I do drive it, it's sees full boosted runs every time out.

I blew up 2 sq-trims then they sent me the g-trim. They blew up right away both were within 10 -20 miles of install. I was one of the 1st to install one of the ls1 kits from vortech. Easy way to know you have striaght cut gears is your blower will be real loud.

Is it common for vortech to send a G trim to replace a broken SQ trim? On back of the SQ head unit will it say SQ next to the serial number?

Thanks. I am 99.9% positive mine is the SQ version of the G-trim.
