10lb - 15lbs on Ttrim instead of D1 ATI
Is there anyone on here running 10lb- 15lbs on a Vortech Ttrim Ls1. It seems like Pro Stock John is the only guy with a really fast Vortech setup(YSI trim). Theirs lots of people in Central Florida running Vortech Mustangs and a few LS1s and nobody seems to like Procharger. I hear only good things about Vortech(except the SQ Gtrim) so why have most of you guys gone with ATI.

SC-Mecham-WS6 did you have H/C, bigger motor or stock. What size SC pulley did you use to get 11lbs and what rpm did you run the motor to. Vortech says you can only spin a Ttrim to 55,000 vs 65,000 for a Gtrim.

On the impeller speeds. It says for the G (absolute) maximum impeller speed and for the T it just says maximum impeller speed. I'm not sure how to interpret the absolute part. I only rev to 6000 and get 9lbs. with the 2.95 pulley. I see 11 with the 2.75 pulley but the car runs crappy and mis-fires. I might have a valve spring issue I'm not sure. If you get a T trim kit I can say this, you will have no belt problems (I have never replaced a belt) and you'll get the flow of the D1SC. If someone put this kit on a car set up for racing I'll bet it would go low 10's or maybe high 9's. My car is a heavy convertible that has only ever ran on Nitto's with a tight stall, 93 octane and stock rear (3:23) so its really just a fast street car.

Thanks for the info SC-MECHAM-WS6 and 2001WS6VERT. I`m trying to get as much input as I can about the Vortech and ATI stuff before I spend more $ on my hotrod. Lots Of local guys have warned me against Procharger for problems other than belt slippage like bearings, seals, fitment probs. But theres lots of fast Vortech cars around here including a 9sec LT1 Camaro and a 800hp Mustang. Yea Jeff now that i`m out of debt(thanks to $5,000 bonus) I`ll have to get back into debt with a Vortech Ttrim.

ATI fixed their problems with the new 8 rib setup. I think EPP has a car now with the new setup and they are planning to run 11psi or so. Im not sure if they did it, but soo far i heard from two owners that have the new 8 rib and they are happy with it. Im waiting to install my D-1SC with the new 8 rib too, but when i have some free time.

so does the T-trim just bolt into the same setup that the G-trim comes with?
If you had a G-trim kit could you just swap in the T-trim?
thanks

Pro Stock John I think that will be an attainable goal(825fwhp). I`ve talked with several Vortech guys and Vortech, the Ttrim should fit right into the standard LS1 kit, and I can buy it that way instead of a Gtrim. I do`nt have the time or the $ to build a car as wild as yours so I think the Ttrim will make good power with a few changes to my car( ported 6.0 heads, smaller cam, more fuel). Good luck with your car and hope to see some #s soon. Dave

I don't believe that the T Trim will fit into the stock G Trim brackets.
You could get a shop like my friend Chris (Z8's) @ SS Racing to make you a set or you can contract someone to make you a set that will fit the T Trim, which is physically bigger in diameter.

Who is running a T Trim with the V9 LS1 brackets without modfiying them? RMCR also makes T Trim conversion brackets, that's what all the CO guys run. I think those brackets are okay but are a bit spendy.

there's a guy on this forum that has the T trim on the g trim kit. I stand corrected it was a custom mounting plate but it did bolt right up to the rest of the kit. I plan to do this possibly down the road, in a couple of years with a built bottom end, should be a pretty fun. .

I bought the RMCR kit. It does need the different bracketry. It comes with a 45 degree oil feed fitting, a 2 3/4 blower outlet sleeve, belt, 18" oil drain hose, new tensioner plate, new mounting bracketry, pulley (whatever size you request) and a 12" flex tube for the front side of maf. Some might consider it pricey but its well thought out and comes with directions for a quick install. The only problem I really had was I had to cut into the fan shroud a lot to be able to pull the power steering cooler far enough away from the blower. I upgraded from the G to the T but if you don't have the kit yet you can buy it with the T from the start and save some money.
