Very nice to hear! I'll be doing the same thing with mine, with a single walbro 450 like he ran in the truck.

100%.

They do a lot better when you smash the relief.

Default Header question

Hey Denmah - I'm doing a G Body (Grand National) LQ4 swap and looking to get hold of a turbo header like the one u have here in the truck.

Where do I get it?

Love yours and want one just like it. Couldn't find it on the Wiki u created....thx

I love the builds you put together. On a different note, using the old school sbc have you got any good power numbers dynoing a 69mm gt45 1.05 turbine on say a 355 in your adventures? I know ls style are great, but is it worth doing on a old school vortech headed 355 with a 214/224 hyd cam with 9:1 compression if you already have the parts? Thanks for all the info and tech tips you share, and happy new year!

You must log in to continue.
yup...still no facebook.

also, you can get passenger manifolds like that from several different sources. trick, kb, to name a couple. most i have seen use a stock drivers truck manifold. truck guys seem to love them. i would like to give one a try on my Nova, but i have only seen 1-2 used in a car based app. not sure the room is there for rear crossover.

installed a boost actuated dump valve on the bottom of the downpipe and a left over **** flowmaster muffler on the middle of the truck to quiet and calm it down lol

mission success, its even quieter and the dump automatically opens at 6psi

Matt,
What do you think about the 3.73 gears in the Colorado?
I am building a 5.3 turbo, 4L80 C10 w/29" tires that should weigh in at about 3900lbs and I have a set of 3.73s that I would like to use, but I was afraid that they would be too low. I was planning to buy something a little taller, but I would like to use the 3.73 since I already have them.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Pat

eh we have plugged them all before also, obviously it helps a little but i wouldnt put all your faith into the 8th inch water ports to save your motor, i was really pushing the tuneup fair and simple lol

unsure yet, i feel like its a little short on the highway i like to cruise at a pretty high speed.

i might eventually goto 3.27 lowest or 3.55

but im pretty happy with it, ill know for sure if its what i want after i make some passes at the track

Thanks. I've kind of been leaning to a 3.55 or maybe a 3.42.
Be sure and report back if you don't mind. I know you will anyway. lol

Thanks

Might be a dumb question but why aren't you running a 4L80E, Matt?
