Voltage boosters for pumps are cheap. For $150 you could turn those 450s into 550s and not have to plumb another pump.
You can tap the ends of the truck rails, the aluminum there is 1/4" thick. Then you could have more than one feed for those massive rails, and it would solve your restriction problem.
This is sloppy mechanics, afterall.

I'd say fuel line and rails need to be up sized. I'm sure those pumps can handle 1k hp but fuel rail is probly at its limit. Has to be a restriction because there is no way he is outta injector or pump being one of those pumps supports 7-800hp. What does that leave.......

Molnar rods? Last set I got was about $500 shipped and they seem to hold up well. Just don't opt for the lightweight rods they aren't as strong and a few grams makes no difference when trying to make 1000+hp.

He's not running out of pump. He's being restricted by the stock rails. To increase the flow through a certain diameter tube, you increase the pressure.

BUT, if he is still using the stock truck regulator that is not referenced to boost, how does increasing the voltage to the pump increase the flow when the pressure the regulator is set at does not change?

I fully understand that increasing the pressure would increase flow.

I still vote for tapping the truck rails and running a pump to each side, or swapping regulators.

couldn't u just install some cheap ebay fuel rails and regulator and be done with it? thin we can see where that s480 maxxs out at! I mean you have pushed that stock rail setup pretty far. I would say u have proved your point. We all know they are capable of 990whp now lol!

I'm at 43psi at the rail on stock LS1 rails (same diameter feed as the truck, smaller diameter rails, and no return). The rail feed isn't the issue. I've run over 20lbs through a 370" motor... same heads, similar cam, same turbo on 85% ethanol with no fuel supply issues. 1 4303 pump with a voltage booster on 1/2 fuel line with good voltage. 160lb injectors.
Get a regulator. Easy to run the return off the regulator as well. This $150 mallory unit works great and is the cheapest I've found with 1/2" ports. Used on several cars now.

Funny you mention that considering your vote was to just add a 3rd pump. Doesn't solve the regulator issue. I was offering the voltage boosters as an alternative to the third pump, not to increase pressure.

Thinking it thru a bit more, your idea of tapping the end of the rails for fittings and having a less restrictive set up would be a better solution.
It will be interesting to see what Matt chooses to do with his set up. I think we all learn from watching him and his methods.

The kenne bell boost-a-pump is $266. Thats what I would use for a pump booster. Never used the boost a pump but a friend of mine has, I used their boost a spark for some spark plug blow out issues I had years ago above 24psi and it worked as advertised.
