GT55 94mm Build - Crap
The car was great, built well, but I was tired of the car scene and said I'd never do that again (to that extent). Well, 2013 came around and I had to scratch that itch, so I became an idiot again and bought this:
The last two winters I started picking away at the supporting mods, much like the last go around, but a little bigger and badder this time. I swapped out the T56 for a fully build TH400, removed the 12-bolt for a shortened M9 with a spool, Denny's driveshaft, and the new wheels. The usual suspension went in as well, along with a "detail" of the bottom of the car.
Then I came across a deal i couldn't refuse for the turbo. A picked up a brand new Garrett GT5533R with a Forced Inductions billet 6 blade 94mm wheel and backing plate from a member on here that needed to abandon his project. I gathered the rest of the items needed and got to work. The only problem was, I just don't have the time to dedicate to the fab as I did before, so I decided to have a local guy build the turbo setup. GREAT DECISION. I used "Filthy Habits Fabrication" out of Western New York, but he is soon moving to the Harrisburg, PA area. Strongly recommended as his fabrication skills are bar-none, and he is great to work with. Anyways, this is where I'm at:
-V-banded manifolds
-2.5" 304ss hotside with flex bellows
-Turbo is hard mounted to chassis frame with 1.75" tube, but is removable. Very slick setup that Jay @ Filthy Habits came up with.
-5" 304ss downpipe necked down to 4" aluminum exhaust from the k-member back
-4" aluminum exhaust over the axle with an aluminum bullet muffler and a single hidden outlet
-3.5" aluminum charge piping from turbo to IC. 4" from IC to TB. IC has v-bands and the TB has a Jodar clamp.
-IC has a 6" thick Garrett core, built by Chiseled Performance.
Over the winter I'm building a 6-bolt LSx in the 400" area, likely TFS 245 heads, and the works. I have that, fuel (undecided on E85 or gas), and a cage to do. Only one problem. This just happened:

I heard a ring was in your future...good work. Marriage has been excellent for me but I did have to cut garage time down to 4 days a week ahhaha.
Get this thing done. If I can help I will. Buffalo is going to have a great amount of fast LSX cars in 2016.

I hear ya on the wives gf's not being huge fans of the cars. I backed mine in the garage the other day and rattled a picture frame and vase off of a shelf bc of the very little exhaust that I have. wifey wasn't too happy lol
