those were the go to china cheapy for a long time. they spool kinda slow compared to other units out now. but they are cheap and very durable. it can definitely make that power level though.

I'm new to this and still asking questions here and there, but what i do know is i have an on3 7875 cast wheel, journal bearing turbo on my ls1 with a tad bigger cam than you and it spools very quickly and it should easily make over 550rwhp. there was the same turbo in the for sale section for around $200 with very little use on it. Pretty good deal. I'd jump on it if I were you.

The turbine is an excellent size for stock bottom LS. You won't get a lot of back pressure building as boost and RPM increase. Car will get better fuel economy if you care about such things. I haven't seen a larger T4 turbine. I only wish the compressor was a little bigger (75mm) and it would be perfect for my stock bottom LS2. KFXGUY is trading the larger compressor for a smaller turbine. I'm sure he sees boost quicker than I do. CarCraft did a build with a similar 7875 turbo that spiked high PSI quickly but then tapered off as RPM increased. Still, they made 1000hp with it.

A little play is normal. Its a journal bearing, so the additional clearance will be taken up by pressurized oil.

was just about to say the same thing. When I got my turbo I was alarmed by the play it had but found out that’s normal.

I got two in mine. You an easily fit that turbo on either side. Passenger side is very easy it you move your battery to the trunk...

EDIT: For some reason I thought you had a GTO/Holden. Must have been kfxguys avatar that made me think that. However, there's always room for a turbo lo!

Hi,
just a question, is there anything stopping me mounting the turbo hot side vertical so that the divided t4 flange is vertical and the two banks come in from the side?
dont see any pictures of this but if the oil inlet outlet is still top and bottom then is there a problem doing it this way?
regards

The only thing that determines mounting is the feed/drain.

Was planning on 1.5sch 10 elbows to 2" sch 10 log to inlet of turbo then 4"dp to twin 3" sidepipes.
then 3" cold side to an intercooler, cant fit the normal 31" wide one in, would have to be smaller...
