Subeone's Boosted SS project
Just bought an 01 BLK SS with 60,000 miles! Ive always wanted one but every single one I would see was just clapped out.
The car was originally from Alaska, and has some nice parts!
it already has an M9 rear
th400 with brake
ptc converter (ima throw in a 9.5 17-0 stator that i have laying around)
10 point chromoly cage
Some kirkeys
Beadlock weld s71s
The car is still on the ls1 (ms3 cam, bolt ons, and a nitrous kit) but I already have the power plant ready to go in.
This is the day that I got the car.
Got the guys at Ricks Machine shop here in Houston putting my 370 together.
I am using CP bullet pistons
China EPW rods
Factory GM crank
main studs
Still undecided on the heads, I have some worked LSA heads laying around somewhere so I may stick those in with some ca625s. I also might buy some TFS 235s. Not sure yet.
LSA head, bowl. Done by shawn hooper out of houston TX
I purchased a twin turbo v3 kit from huron yesterday too with the bumper exit so cant wait for that to come in. I got several turbos laying around but recently found these s369s so probably going to run those. Seem to be regular out of the box sxe borgs.
For the intake manifold I bought a rectangle port btr equalizer a month or 2 ago so I plan on running that. The thing looks ugly as **** but its the only decent one that I can see that will clear the cowl, kinda contemplating buying a plazmaman billet intake tho. Or just wait til TSP releases their billet unit. We will see.
I got 2 precision gates that i had planned to use on my foxbody, but ill use those on this thing. Twin 44mm gates. I have some BOVs too, covid 19 ones lol.
For tuning I will run either holley HP or a terminator X, i have 2 systems somewhere in my garage so I will see which one fits my goals. I will be piggybacking the factory ecu as well so all factory gauges work like stock like in my silverado 😁
Ill be running coolant pressure, ill have an onboard compressor from viair with dual macs, backpressure sensor for all the data, and probably compressor wheel speed sensors. (Ill replace oil pressure input and configure for backpressure for those asking how i will run so many inputs). I have a ton of lowdoller sensors so im set there.
Intercooler will be the chy-na 3.5" huron uses.
i think the only thing this car is missing is a battery relocation, and a fuel system for now. Ill be using dual 525 walbros probably with some 210s and a fore innovations fi2 regulator, and fi2 controller that i have from when i removed off my silverado.
I hope to run 5.0s or faster when I am done with it. Not sure how much power i will need, but im confident ill get to 1100 safely with this combination.

What do we have here 🤔
And yea it was align honed, wasnt off by much however.
Lol man im as busy as ever but itll be nice to look back how this car progressed and ls1tech would be a place to document it all
have a link to the shearer fab unit?
So after seeing how much of a **** show it was to run triple pumps on Mavns SOM, I have decided to stay with a dual pump setup. After some careful thinking, and some self motovation to not run a fuel cell, I decided I will experiment and try a new pump setup.
I plan on running dual 295 series pumps. They are essentially a 535 LPH variant of the 450 LPH.
Courtesy of Radium The 295 variant flows almost 100 liters more at 70 psi (target fuel pressure at 30 psi of boost).
An extra 200 lph will be almost equivalent to having 2 450 walbros and an extra 255 gss342 without the complicated wiring mess or the extra current draw. Not to mention the **** show in the fuel pump hanger.
Another pro of going this route is the current draw.
Courtesy of Radium. The 295 variant slightly edges the 274 (450lph) variant by an amp or 2 at 70 psi, and over 3 compared to the 285 (525) variant.
This is always critical in an fbody with 2 ecus, a sound system, & derale pusher fans (these ******* draw so much when they turn on lol).
There is however a drawback 😂. All of this is possible because the 295 pump does not have a check valve. Flow is improved and of course the restriction is reduced, hence the lower amperage draw. For people trying to stage pumps, it will be impossible to run a setup like this. I plan on running both pumps at all times, and priming wont be a problem as i wont be limited by the 1 second prime timer offered by the factory ecu. With holley i can set the prime time to whatever I wish.
Lets hope this setup works however.

I am also currently building my foxbody, puttin a 88/103 on it simultaneously as I build this camaro.. Corona got me doing silly things lol.
i maxed out 3 450s at 1400 on my truck, 525s should get you close to 1600 so youll be fine!
