@Prostock John has been playing with his in a similar fashion and has had good results.
I plan to do the same and then tap into a front wheel speed sensor for boost by speed for street stuff.

That way power comes in with traction/speed and not on its own ramp like over time.
A lot of no prep guys run it this way so if the tires start losing traction, your mph flat lines or reduces keeping the boost level down so the engine doesn't just keep making more power and boil the tires.
The Cortex EBC has this function, I just haven't wired it up yet.
I would have to imagine the Holley ECU's have the same function.
