It's actually my tuners dad's motor and he works at a machine shop so he sells good products. The only thing I probably will do is change the pistons in it because it has aftermarket pistons in it and im not sure what brand they are and neither is he, but my tuner is going look at it tomorrow and making sure everything checks out and if we will use the pistons or not. If not then I'll stick pistons, melling pump, and a cam in it and roll with it. I also have to ship my trans off to frank as I'm wanting to go ahead and put a brake in it while we're at it. Hoping this go around we can hit the 800 wheel mark. Shouldn't be to hard as when it make 754 that was with a truck cam
…….yea $300 for a 6.0……he is definiteley blue balling you, **** that chump!!!

they usually go for more then 800 here as well, I should know something by tonight as they are going racing tonight so my tuner will see it then. Should definitely be a nice upgrade from the lm7 iron block I had in it. I'm ready to see how it's going to perform with that and a transbrake. Hoping for below 10.50's.

yeh thats what I'm saying, the 6.0 is bard block and the 5.3 has rotating assembly so I'd much rather go that route. Of course I'll put new bearings, seals, and gap the rings while it's not in the truck but that's much easier then having to buy everything.

like i was saying before though, you can put the 5.3 rotating assembly in the 6.0, all you have to do is change the pistons, so if you ever come across another bare 6.0 block in the future and the owner isnt B/S’ing you definitely ****** it up at the very first opportunity and dont look back, but thats more the less on a preference and price point wise 5.3’s are just plain awesome and pretty hard to beat, people treat 6.0’s like gold and want an arm and a leg for them while on the other hand you can find 5.3’s just about anywhere for pennies on the dollar and with a few mods and go fast parts it will be right up there with the more thirsty 6.0 counter part……but when you add a little boost to the equation that is where the little 5.3’s start to shine and make you forget all about that 6.0 that got away…..dont even let me get started on the 4.8’s that people damn near pay you to haul off!!!😏😏😏…….either way you slice it, ANY engine built on the (rwd) LS platform is gonna be a solid reliable and readily availiable powerhouse that will bring you years of joy for many many miles of smiles with maintenence and up-keep that just about any fool with a set of tools can tackle right in his/her own driveway……and just about all the parts are interchangeable from almost all of the engines across the board, the actual size’s and dimensions between them all are the same , meaning a 7.0 will take up the same amount of space as a 4.8, and will bolt right in place where the other one was pulled out…..you can literally hoard a handful of parts from just about every motor and when you have every component you can practically bolt them all together and frankenstien a power house…. Just make sure the crank and rods are meant for eachother and the pistons are correct for the bore, and if the bore is 4.00” or bigger square port heads will work, anything under 4.00” is cathedral port……other thing is 58x needs a 58x ecu and 24x needs 24x ecu….dbw/dbc..etc etc etc…..aftermarket ecu’s are more easier to work eith when you get into those specifics but the wiring and electrical aspect of it all is a whole different topic and im not even gonna get into that mess….not today anyways……hopefully in the next couple days when you post we will be seeing pics of an aluminum 5.3 getting prepared for your leisure activities!!!! Good luck man!!!!

I'll definitely post pictures when I get it, tomorrow ill box up the transmission and get it shipped out Monday so I can put the transbrake and my truck is on holley so im not to concerned about the ecu thing as I'm covered on that aspect. Even if the guy calls me about the 6.0 ill still ****** it up even if i get the 5.3. Never hurts to have a spare. The 5.3 is an lh9 i corrected my post that was a typo. May take a little time to get everything in order but I'll definitely make it happen. If you have read any of my previous post I've invested lots of time and money into to this truck and had a bit of bad luck with it but I'll eventually get it all together and right.

Yeah i have been following your posts and you are absoluteley correct on keeping a spare hoarded away in the garage, either for a spare or who knows if you come across another project car that is begging for an LS swap…..i have a couple rainy day spares stashed in the garage too…..just in case
Silver one is a 5.3 with 4.8 flat tops and asa cam, the other is my LQ4 converted to a 370” with flat top LS2 pistons and ASA cam before it got a supercharger and different cam

The motor in the car was my first swap and its a nice lil cammed (220/220) strung out 4.8….this is the one that started it all….the 370” behind it is what went in its place shortly after and now is being built into a supercharged 408”…..the 4.8 is supercharged (centrifugal) and now lives in my ‘73 c10 swb fleetside

hell yeh thats bad *** man, my buddy has a truck just like your white one. 6.0 with same turbo as mine. Ive never thought about using other stock pistons like that. I bet that much cheaper. My tuner wants me to go forged piston and rods on this motor and I'm not sure if want to do that. My goal is 800 wheel so I feel like the gen 4 stuff is fine.

Is your tuner paying for it……yeah stock pistons will hold up just fine….if your pushing 4 digit numbers for extended periods of time then yeah probably would be smart to shell out a couple clams for some forged ones, but you be suprised how much stock hyperutectic slugs could hold up to if your tune is right!!!….if u got the money to burn by all means go with the forged ones , i mean you are chasing a large hp number after all…..but for the record people have made 1000+ on stock slugs….the question is for how long…..

Thats the 4.8 in the white truck….i have that flat top L96 to go in its place in the near future here, just have other prioroties with other cars to deal with at the moment

This is the LQ4 that got punched out to 370” with the flat top LS2 pistons, it had a 2.45” pulley and 850fic injectors with a cam motion 220/230 on 117+5 lsa (baby) cam but works great with my power brakes and has awesome streetability manners, i have a 408” stroker assembly stashed in the garage to go into this block seeing how it is already bored .030 over and is still basically a fresh build with only 13k mi on the clock since its been finished….

My 16yr old son was able to talk me and his mother into getting him a ‘67 mustang, i tried to convince him into getting a GM product, but he was very convinced and determined that he needed a mustang, when i was in high school at his age i had a ‘65 fast back, and when i met his mother she had a ‘66 coupe , so i knew his mother was gonna side with him on the mustang dilemma, it currently has a slightly tired 289 in it that i already converted to EFI,

So we got this lil tired 289 running as good as we can considering its been parked for the past 25+ yrs, we picked up a late 90’s explorer roller cam 5.0 to replace the tired 289, we got higher compression pistons and aluminum heads to get us into the 10.25:1 range instead of the current 9:1 that the anemic 289 is pushing, got all new internals and the only things being re-used will be the block and crank, everything else will be BRAND SPANKIN new, only gotta get a hi stall convertor, and build!

that's what I'm thinking too, he just says for extra security we will know the forged with last but im not looking to break any records here. 800 is all im after and I think the gen 4 stuff if fine. My gen 3 rods and pistons were fine at 754 if it weren't for the main bearings going to ****

man you have some bad *** rides, I'm shelled out tons in just my one truck so I can imagine what you have spent in all those rides. I actually have a turbo honda civic as well but i got screwed by a mechanic in dallas texas who i paid 15g to build me a motor and it never happened so its been shacked up since. Ill catch up to him one day smh. The ford aint to bad now a days. My company truck is an f150 with the 5.0 and 10 speed and it's not to bad for a stock truck. It will blow the doors off my 2019 silverado with a 5.3.

Oh trust me, my wife hates it but at the end of the day she is a car person too and she gets to drive a cts-V at the end of the day so she cant complain toooo much
So she mainly likes to drive this cts-V
So she mainly likes to drive this cts-V
When she doesnt wanna burn a half a tank of premium unleaded when just driving to the next town and back she will drive this mbz cls550…..despite what people think about these cars they are actually solid built cars and if you keep up on simple maintenece they will treat you right and run forever….in the past 10yrs and only repairs that i HAD to do to it that were tricky were changing the motor mounts and front air ride struts….if i had taken it to a shop those repairs would have been thousands$

But when we are going on long trips or traveling with guests she will drive the black tahoe way back there in the middle of the court, if we are going to lake tahoe or a place where there is snow or somewhere far and dont wanna makr several fuel stop we’ll take my huge duramax, it has an auxillary fuel tank so fully fueled up it holds close to 100gallons of diesel….i keep it around mainly for tow purposes

This one is my tow pig and is an absolute beast….but yeah 7 cars is a full time job in itself when it comes to keeping them all maintained and safe for the road…not to mention a boat that has a 8.1 vortec in it (basically a big block LS), several dirt bikes go karts and a road glide

This started life as a road king but around 3 yrs ago i decided it needed a stereo and the ugly 16” front wheel had to go, thats when i put this 21” wheel on front and converted it to a road glide, its so much better to drive now with that faring in front to block the wind but it takes up soooo much valuble space in my garage, lately ive kept it parked in the backyard under the awning so its out of the sun and rain , but since winter is coming its gonna have to go back in the garage……

…….i wanna get another project car to LS swap, like an early chrome bumper c-3 vette, or maybe even a newer one like a c6 or possibly c7….but the wife isnt having it and in order to bring another one home id have to get rid of one and possibly the bike too 😫😫😫. Maybe ill just tell her i will sell the mbz cls550 and the boat…..but then she will want a newer mercedes which is more than what i will end up paying for a c6 or c7……i cant win either way!!!!

But when we are going on long trips or traveling with guests she will drive the black tahoe way back there in the middle of the court, if we are going to lake tahoe or a place where there is snow or somewhere far and dont wanna makr several fuel stop we’ll take my huge duramax, it has an auxillary fuel tank so fully fueled up it holds close to 100gallons of diesel….i keep it around mainly for tow purposes

that's bad *** man, my wife comes to the track with me everytime I race the truck so she can't hate it too bad. We have 2018 silverado 3.5 lift on 24's, 2014 dodge charger blacked out with black 20's, my truck of coarse I've been posting about, my civic that's been shacked up and my company truck is a 2022 f150.

I kinda skimmed the previous posts but 800+ is a lot to go through. If you are still on the stock 10B it may not be all that excited about a TB.

5.3 makes boost just fine. My 5.3 / S485 combo lights off great.

stock 10B? I'm not sure what your referring too. If you mean throttle body no its not factory.
