Default F11 cam good for STS turbo?

I was just wondering how good my set up would be if i put a STS turbo on my car with an F11 cam (228/230 .575/.595 114+4 LSA) Would i need a completely different cam to run the turbo?

Also, i would have to plan on building my 4L60E.. Getting a 12 bolt rear, getting a tune, and upgrading the fuel system(Fuel pump, injectors, fuel rails).

What else would need to be done? seems like it cant be that simple.. If my cam would work with a set up like that.. then i might have to give it a try..

Has anyone tried any set ups with the STS turbo? What all do you need? and what did you spend all together for the complete build up? Thanks

Why not simply change your cam??

I've seen a few threads like this where someone can't decide on a turbo system because of a cam that's already installed in their car. Makes no sense to me that you would let a cam decide something so big for you.

Save the money on the rear end and get an intercooler setup. With proper gear alignment and a girdle the rear end should have no problems handling the 60' of the turbo. I have so many 1.56 60's on my T/A it's not even funny. Most people don't break the rear with an auto unless they are hitting REALLY hard off the line with tons of TQ like nitrous hits.

Turbos are definately fun

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that your cam is no good. I honestly don't know enough about cams to know which is good for certain applications.

I was just saying don't let something so small make your decision

Call Alan and talk with him. He can do a custom turbo cam for you.

That cam would work fine. You stand to gain a little performance with a custom cam, but you wouldn't have any ill effects on your engine with an f11..

Peace,
Josh
