Your lucky you keep your kit inside. I left mine in the garage and tere is surface rust all over it. I need to go get it either powdercoated or something. i think im going to try to paint it this weekend.

I didn't think you could use shorties like that because they are not coated to take the heat? I was told you almost had to use cast iron manifolds unless you used mild steel and had it coated with the 1600-2000 degree coating. So these will work?

they wont last forever but theyd work,plus you could get them painted or coated after the fact.....id like to get a set....dyno with the stock 02 headers then switch to shortys and see the difference.

I dont see what the problem is. Any year F-body LS1 manifold will bolt up to this kit, and any year F-Body LS1 shortie header will bolt up to this kit as well as long as it utilizes the factory triangle shaped flanges... BBK, JBA, Hooker, NOT Edlebrock. I'd reccomend the BBK ones since they have a 1-3/4" primary rather than a 1-5/8" that all other shorties have.
